"John McCain's campaign asked a prominent Republican consultant, Craig Shirley, to leave after Shirley's dual role consulting for the campaign and for an independent "527" group was revealed. Shirley doubled as a consultant to McCain and to the group Stop Her Now, a 527 group barred from coordinating its activities with presidential campaigns.
Shirley's firm, Shirley & Bannister Associates, was paid more than $22,000 by McCain for work to win conservative support. Stop Her Now has paid the firm more than $155,000 since 2007 for public relations work.
Shirley'sbackground is in some of the hardest hitting Republican attacks on Democratic politicians. He was a member of the team that tarred Michael Dukakis with the "Willie Horton" ads in 1988, and he helped organize the press conference with Paula Jones. In 2004, his company did public relations work for a movie attacking John Kerry called, 'Stolen Honor.'"

McCain, who has made fighting special-interest projects a centerpiece of his presidential campaign, inserted $14.3 million in a 2003 defense bill to buy land around Luke Air Force Base in a provision sought by SunCor Development, the largest of about 50 landowners near the base. SunCor representatives.
The Air Force later paid SunCor $3 million for 122 acres near the base. It was the highest single land transaction of the private lots purchased by the government — three times the county's assessed value and twice the military's estimated value.
McCain's campaigns have received $224,000 since 1998 from donors connected to Pinnacle West, including $104,100 for his current presidential run."

I;m beginning to suspect that McCain thinks the middle class is a special interest project an he juswt hasn't fully defined the term leaving it to the listener to create his own definition. The only fighting I'm seeing McCain doing or advocating latrely is to stop any accountability audits from occuring.

McCain says we cannot afford healthcare for children or vets, but we can afford three times the county assessed property value when it comes to the govt buying property from one of McCain`s large campaign donors.
What a POS! This is exactly why America is going down the drain, because of politicians like McCain!

In 2000, he was a solid campaigner, an honest debater, a pragmatic Conservative ... who was willing to work with Liberals to make America move FORWARD.
But once he realized that Conservatives DONT WANT that kinda guy ... once he realized that we Christian Conservatives WANT losers ... he had to shift his whole approach ... I mean, if he wanted to get elected.
He realized that if he could count on EVERY SINGLE Christian Fundamentalist vote ... (Liek Karl Rove and GW did) he could win!
THATS why he desperately sought John (Catholics are W-hores) Hagee's endoresment.

"McCain was in favor of talking to Hamas before he was against it. Two years ago, John McCain was in favor of dealing with Hamas. 'They're the (Palestinian) government; sooner or later we are going to have to deal with them,' McCain told James Rubin.
More recently, McCain has been using a comment made by a Hamas spokesman to suggest that the group is 'rooting for an Obama victory.'

Whoever wins has to talks to Hamas because they are the one that elected by the people. Talking to Abbas or Jordan or Egypt will not solve the problem. America call anyone who resists Israel is a terrorist but the real terrorists are the the Israelis and the Americans. America supports Israeli terrorism.

McCain tried to distance himself from the Keating Five disgrace by championing ethics reforms. Sadly he has fallen so far, he is unrecognizable from his former self. I personally believe his swiftboating in 2000 by the Bush cabal, rather than inciting a willingness to fight such evil has instead beaten the man into submission. He has turned to the "dark side". It would be hard to find a more influence peddling politician in 2008 than McCain, with an almost endless trail of lobbyists and narrow special interests directly involved in his campaign.

McCain is just like the other neocon candidates. A flip flopping liar willing to serve the devil in order to get what he desires.
He has shown he isn't against or for anything and will continue to do whatever it takes to be the next bigger and better Bush.
I rememeber being sickened by the Bush campaign's and I'm sickened by the McCain campaign.
I don't think he is healthy enough to be president. I think we ought to see who the GOP is putting with him as the VP. Because I have a feeling if elected thats who'll we'll end up with. I truly think they are trying a back door election. Ala Rove and the dirty dealers.
McCain shouldn't even be elected as a dog catcher.

It can be apply to any politician but some people like Bush or McCain can be labeled as Neocons. They have to be because they have get every vote that counts. There is no such thing as ethics in American politics. They make your policy to suit their donor's and supporters interest or they won't be supported.

As far as religion goes. This is a joke. One can't force a person to be a Christian or anything else. That is what happened in Rome. Instead of having a truly Christian nation they had a bunch of people forced to say they were Christian in order to survive. That is what causes a true severing of the faith.
I'd rather have guy or woman that says yeah this is who I am and this is what I believe in. Than to have a hypocritical liar like, well you know who is in the Whitehouse right now.
I don't favor gay marriage as I believe marriage is between a man and woman. By the same token I don't think we ought to be bashing gays to make a political point.
I guess I just think we ought to consider the real issues this year like the economy, the war, the false war on terror that is actually increasing terroism, the lack of genuine leadership from any party and the coming disaster that awaits us from the Bush years.
