Look at Gaza today. No Israeli occupation, no settlements, not a single Jew left. The Palestinian response? Unremitting rocket fire killing and maiming Israeli civilians. The declared casus belli of the Palestinian government in Gaza behind these rockets? The very existence of a Jewish state.

May 16, 2008, 9:48 a.m.Israel's crime is not its policies but its insistence on living. On the day the Arabs -- and the Palestinians in particular -- make a collective decision to accept the Jewish state, there will be peace, as Israel proved with its treaties with Egypt and Jordan. Until that day, there will be nothing but war. And every "peace process," however cynical or well-meaning, will come to nothing.))

May 16, 2008, 7:52 p.m."...what the Arab narrative deliberately distorts is the cause of its own tragedy: the folly of its own fanatical leadership -- from Haj Amin al-Husseini, the grand mufti of Jerusalem (Nazi collaborator, who spent World War II in Berlin), to Egypt's Gamal Abdel Nasser to Yasser Arafat to Hamas of today -- that repeatedly chose war rather than compromise and conciliation."
When Egypt's Sadat chose peace and diplomacy with Israel, the forerunners of today's Hamas and al Qaeda killed him for it.

May 17, 2008, 8:48 a.m.Buulll pucckkie. The zionist stae of israel has been guilty of ethnic cleansing in contravention of international law from the very beginning. We shouldn't forget that the UN NEVER APPROVED the partition of palestine and the zionists have no claim to ANY of palestine for a racist state.
Zionism: The Real Enemy of the Jews
... In my book and on public platforms I also take head-on the matter of Israel's right or not to exist.
According to first and still existing draft of history, Israel was given its birth certificate and thus legitimacy by the UN Partition Resolution of 29 November 1947. This is nonsense.
In the first place the UN without the consent of the majority of the people of Palestine did not have the right to decide to partition Palestine or assign any part of its territory to a minority of alien immigrants in order for them to establish a state of their own.

May 16, 2008, 10:21 a.m.FTA_Six months before Israel's birth, the U.N. had decided by a two-thirds majority that the only just solution to the British departure from Palestine would be the establishment of a Jewish state and an Arab state side by side. The undeniable fact remains: The Jews accepted that compromise; the Arabs rejected it.
With a vengeance. On the day the British pulled down their flag, Israel was invaded by Egypt, Syria, Lebanon, Transjordan and Iraq -- 650,000 Jews against 40 million Arabs
Sounds like the Arabs want to dominate the entire region.

May 16, 2008, 10:44 a.m.The Arabs do want to dominate. They hate the Jews and want to drive them into the sea. God's Promise to Abraham will be kept. The Jews are protected by a most holy God who always keeps his word.
Why else would the Jews be able to protect themselves with a ratio of 40 million Arabs against 650,000 Jews??

May 16, 2008, 10:38 a.m.The return of the Jews to Israel is the key to bible prophecy. Most other endtime prophecies depend on the Jewish people living in Israel and not scattered amongst the Gentiles. Israel has not existed as a nation since hundreds of years before the birth of Christ. Israel was established on May 15, 1948.
Deuteronomy 4:27-28,30-31 27The LORD will scatter you among the peoples, and only a few of you will survive and the nations to which God will drive you. 28But from there you will seek the LORD your God, and you will find him if you search for him with all your heart and all your soul. 30When you are in distress and all these things have happened to you, then in latter days you will return to the LORD your God and obey him. 31For the LORD your God is a merciful God; he will not abandon or destroy you or forget the covenant (the land of Israel) with your forefathers, which he confirmed to them all.

May 16, 2008, 10:39 a.m.Jeremiah 30:3 'For behold, days are coming,' declares the LORD, 'when I will restore the fortunes of My people Israel and Judah.' The LORD says, 'I will also bring them back to the land that I gave to their forefathers and they shall possess it."
Isaiah 11:11 Then it will happen on that day that the Lord will again recover the second time with His hand The remnant of His people, who will remain, From Assyria, Egypt, Pathros, Cush, Elam, And from the islands of the sea.
Joel 3:1-2 1"For behold, in those days and at that time, When I restore the fortunes of Judah and Jerusalem, 2I will gather all the nations And bring them down to the valley of Jehoshaphat. Then I will enter into judgment with them there On behalf of My people and My inheritance, Israel,
Amos 9:11 "In that day I will raise up the fallen booth of David, And wall up its breaches; I will also raise up its ruins And rebuild it as in the days of old;
Foresaw restoration of Israel in one day (May 15, 1948).

May 16, 2008, 11:33 a.m.I remember when Israel was declared a free state. I was a child but I still remember how proud I was that my President, Harry S. Truman, recognized the Jewish state of Israel and made it possible for the Jews to have a home again. Heck, I'm still proud that the United States helped make Israel possible.

May 17, 2008, 9:14 a.m.That America has allowed zionists in the US to hijack our country and support the ethnic cleansing of millions of christians and moslems in the name of zionist racism is one of the most shameful acts in our history. We would be better off to start supporting honest, moral israelis rather than the zionist fanatics in israel and the US.
The ethnic cleansing of Palestine
By Ilan Pappe
University of Haifa, Israel
The book shows that in 1948, the Zionist movement waged a war against the Palestinain people in order to implement its long term plans of ethnic cleansing. The Arab world tried to prevent this cleansing, but was too fragmented, self-centered and ineffective to stop the uprooting of half of Palestine's native population, the destruction of half of its villages and towns and the killing of thousands of its people.

May 17, 2008, 9:22 a.m.Well wolfie, it is shameful that any american would support ethnic cleansing in the name of religious racism. It is even more shameful that we continue to support such ethnic cleansing. Sounds like you are a second-generation refugee from eastern european racism and totalitarianism that has still not learned about the basic principles of american democracy.

May 16, 2008, 12:18 p.m.I'll leave God to to theologians (of whatever belief they may hold) for me, Israel exists now, much in the same way that ANY country exists, by holding what you have, BUT their country was mandated by the UN, the surrounding Arab nations didn't like it much and have shown nothing but contempt for their "brothers" ever since......
Since then, there's been nothing but war and strife FROM the Arab side, despite ALL the aid and assistance from Israel (given to the Palestinians)....
How much does Egypt/Syria/Lebanon give ??????
Oh, sorry, appart from guns, rockets, ammo, sanctuary ???

Holding Zionism To Account
Open Letter to Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice
http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/articl...
Zionism: The Real Enemy of the Jews
.. Judaism is the religion of Jews (not "the Jews" because not all Jews are religious), and, like Christianity and Islam, it has at its core a set of ethical principles and moral values.
Zionism is a secular, colonialist ideology which, in 1948, and mainly by resorting to terrorism and ethnic cleansing, established a state for some Jews in the Arab heartland. (At the time of Zionism's birth and first mission statement in 1897, its colonial ambition was supported by only a very small minority of the Jews of the world; and it can be said that without the obscenity of the Nazi holocaust - a European crime for which, effectively, the Arabs of Palestine were punished - Israel would not have come into being).

May 16, 2008, 1:45 p.m.It doesn't matter what the Arabs or any other nation try to do to Israel. In the end they lose. God wins!!!
It is not a mere people that man wars with when he wars with Israel. Yes many suffer. But in the end Egypt will come back to God as well and all the world will know who is the True God.
For those who disagree with me. I don't really care. Israel is given to the Jews by God. The time is here and God will do as he promised and woe unto them that oppose him.
Remember the Jewish people themselves have rejected Gods word. When Moses went to the mountain to get the ten commandments they made a false idol and worshipped it.
Just because one is Jewish or a Christian does not make one right. Ones heart must be with God and accept that Gods' will, will be done.
Good post cat.

May 16, 2008, 3:24 p.m.Well, perhaps there are now no Israelis in Gaza but they control all access, all water, all electricity and so on. Gaza is now a prison or perhaps a ghetto, sound familiar?

May 16, 2008, 6:30 p.m.> Gaza is now a prison or perhaps a ghetto, sound familiar?
Not exactly. First, Gaza has a border with Egypt which is controlled by the Egyptians, not by Israelis.
Second, if the Palestinian Arabs in Gaza did not like the current arrangement they would try to NEGOTIATE a better one. The Jews in the ghettos did not have such opportunity.

May 16, 2008, 6:32 p.m.Actually Albion - You might want to check on which country provides MOST of the above...... Except when they get a touch PO'd about being the target of indiscreminate rocket attacks, and attempts to make a point. Yes it's hurts the populace, but as the populace would appear to be the only ones capable of getting rid of the pathetic little lowlife terrrists, it's down to them......

Thinker22
May 16, 2008, 8:04 p.m.In addition, please consider that in case Canada would decide to launch thousands of missiles into the US killing thousands of Americans every day the US would, probably, turn Canada into a "prison or perhaps a ghetto, sound familiar?"... and, alas, Canada does not have Egypt or any other neighbor except the US.
So, maybe, the Palestinians should learn from the Canadians how to live in peace with a powerful neighbor, don't you agree?
