Another classic band and one of many personal favorites.Hard to pick but this is one of my favorite songs.It may be urban legend but I always heard it was true.

Remarkable stuff, the Who seemed to invent another type of rock almost single-handedly. Certainly their subjects were unique:
"From Soho down to Brighton, I must've played'em all"

  They all certainly had the flare and were always great live when I saw them.But I could have swore "Tommy" was based on an actual live individual?

    Sorry, rdy, pretty sure Tommy was pure Townshend invention.

        Live at Leeds really sets me off . I'll play music on the Fourth of July [ in USA it's a holiday ] , But once Live at Leeds gets blasted thru the stereo and outdoor speakers , all bets are off .

        I've got a boot of the Leeds show that the album was lifted from. Tommy is performed in it's entirety.
        Killer show. That whole '69 tour smoked. Leeds was their homecoming show, I think.

My favorite four piece (even when there's more than four of 'em) of all time, hands down. Seen 'em plenty, even for living in the midwest. No, I wasn't at the tragic Ohio show. Did see them once on the last tour just after Ox died, though, and Pete played the best I'd ever seen him.
DAMN I LOVE THIS BAND.

Last time i saw them was "79" i believe,at the UNI dome in cedar falls Iowa.It was the first of their last tours.lol.Amazing!!

  Yeah , I seen 'em two years ago with John Bonhams son on drums and Pino Paladino on Bass , with Townsend's brother as a back-up guitarist at MSG . It was should I say , Fckin Great . They truly are a large arena band and such consumate performers .

Way cool rdy! I remember the concert they had in Cincinnati in the late 70's or early 80's, seems there was a stampede and several people were killed!
I always liked this song, they knew how to rock the house!!

Under-rated and under-appreciated when they first arrived. Everything was Beatles and Stones where I lived. Gotta go with BoxMonkey, Live at Leeds was the most awesome album I owned.
Sheer energy that still out performs most of the junk out there today !
Not sure how you relate to this decade but, you show some fine taste in musical groups from the time when I was trying on my kool.
Thanks again rdy2rock..your name rocks truly !
