This Just In:
"Republican Leaders Explain, Slogan Is Only Payback"
Washington: The Republican National Committee on Saturday admitted that they chose their new campaign slogan because, as spokesman A. W. Heck explained, "We owe them big time."
Mr. Heck continued, "The entire pharmaceutical industry has us over a barrel. They expected lots more in return for their hundreds of millions of dollars of campaign donations than being connected to the lowest-rated presidency in history. So, we worked out a deal: we tie in with some of their lesser-known products, and they give us a break on prescriptions. These days, we need all the medication we can get."
On the horizon, Mr. Heck suggested a modified version of Ritain's unofficial slogan. "We'd change it to, 'Making the minority position slightly less painful.' "
Mr. Heck then excused himself, claiming he had a doctor's appointment. "My Prozac-Percocet double header is about to wear off."

We republicans only want a nation of fat wealthy, heavily armed white men, befouling the air and water in a ceaseless quest for profits and exploitation of laborers, beholden to no laws but those of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. (Or actually whatever perverts running the mega-church say he says... we have no idea ourselves other than he would be for guns and killin' foreigners n' gays right?). The lord wears a flag pin and has a (made in China by prison labor)"I support the troops" sticker on his gas guzzler.

"I like the way you think, RFE!"
Me too, but I guess that's already public knowledge!
Re the double post - yes - this seems to be propeller's latest trick, that the post doesn't appear so you write it again.
I've taken to trying to remember to save before I post but sometimes forget and then laboriously rewrite and finish up with a different edit..

Do you honestly think that the people who really run this country consider themselves Republican? They place their bets on both sides of the aisle. That's why I believe we need at least one more real and viable alternative to Republican-Democratic politics.

With all due respect, TemplarScrive, I must disagree with the 'pharmaceutical' interpretation of the new Republican slogan.
In point of fact, the phrase 'Change You Deserve', is equivalent to the phrase 'Give you something to cry about'.
It is a threat from the Republican leadership to an America that has insulted it.
I think they are dreaming of taking the gloves off; no more flag-waving and easter-egg rolls; they want wips and chains and wailing of widows and gnashing of liberal teeth.
Picture Karl Rove appearing on Fox News, announcing the suspension of civil liberties; while Colbert is waterboarded in the background, Dick Cheney hefting a shotgun tells America, "NOW you are gonna get the change you deserve".
