Certainly, there are many things for which Americans should feel rightfully proud and you've listed some of those here. But as you admit "Is the U.S. of A perfect? No." There are certainly some flaws in our history and policies that we should not be proud of. America's unbelievably low voter turnout rate (ranked 139th out of 172 democratic countries in the world) is one of these less flattering aspects of which we can't be proud.

Michelle Obama's remarks in their entirety address ONLY America's historically low voter turnout. Until this year when Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama were eliciting RECORD voter turnout, she had never seen so many citizens actively participating in democratic elections. That's all she said. But the neocon smear machine cited her truncated quote out of context to make it appear as if Michelle said she had nothing to be proud of in America.
A gross exaggeration indeed.

    The fact is that Michelle Obama has REPEATEDLY "validated" what she meant. YOU just weren't paying attention because you were too busy trying to score cheap political points.
    CAPE:

    I don't agree. Michelle Obama is not the one running for office. but if you must, then at least scrutinize her position on important issues, and do it TRUTHFULLY. Your pathetic attempts to villify Michelle Obama by citing truncated quotes out of context obfuscate pressing issues America is facing and are UNTRUTHFUL within the context of meaning of her full speech.
    There is a PROFOUND distinction between engaging in intelligent, dispassionate political discourse and engaging in shameless muckraking. Apparently, you have trouble distinguishing between the two.
