This album is one my guilty pleaures. George reminds me of Amy Winehouse, the outrageous behavior overshadowing the monstrous talent. Both sad stories. But this album has some of the best musicianship I have ever heard. The keyboards on Freedom '90 are astonishing. That is the only song with any relation to Wham! which was truly awful stuff. George knew it too. Gospel tinged songs (They Wont Go When I Go), percussive brilliance (Cowboys and Angels) and even a wartime lament (Mothers Pride). Someone challenged me to listen to this as a musician and I indeed learned to Listen Without Prejudice. A brilliant album IMO.
