I'm here what would you like to know? We're seeing progress daily. You might know that if you watched more than CNN.
As to keeping us here forever, that's what your leaders did after WW2 and Korea. We still have troops in Germany, Japan and South Korea. We're seeing a draw down currently and we're close to the pre-surge numbers.
As to being for either party, I'm not. I've never voted for the Dem before but it could happen if someone like a Zell Miller or JFK came along. Since they really have no one left in the DNC, I'm forced to support McCain.
As to children serving, I'm 4 generation military. So if I were blessed with kids, military is a fine career.

Combat vet? I've read his ramblings. Just because he saw combat doesn't mean he speaks for me or my people. My father was a Marine officer assigned to the White House when JFK was in office. He thought the world of him too bad the party then doesn't exist today.
As to protecting your freedoms, you're very wrong. The information from Saddam's secret files clearly show he had every intention of striking America when possible. He never thought the US would actually invade after Bush 41 & Clinton. He broke rules in the peace agreement and we launched a few missiles.
You as a taxpayer couldn't afford the costs of a real draft. As to supporting a draft, I don't. I don't want your loser kids who are too stupid to get a deferment. I want people who love this country as much as I do serving with me. I want people who love their country more than life itself standing by my side.

This is her 4th trip to that region. She's no loser. Rather than early out with the F-14's she went to command school and served with a Marine air group. I don't know what happened but she earned their respect. This final time, she volunteered to go.

What? Conscription? Are you insane?
No way will those God fearing, patriotic, flag waving, never have and never will serve in the military Neocons risk the hides of their precious children in bringing democracy and peace to Iraq.
The whole idea is to make a few billion in profits by sending somebody ELSE'S kids over there to get killed and maimed doing Gods will.
Praise the Lord - and pass the ammunition!

While it was nice, I really don't need his help. I was a part of Fallon's team. While he decided to move into the private sector and retire early, I'm finishing my contract here. I really love what I'm doing.
As for being a minister or whatever, way too funny. I didn't know Parliament took over. Then again, since congress and the senate didn't do anything, I suppose a change is in order... Just kidding. I'm sure our leaders are doing something, what that is we'll never know, but I'm sure they're doing something.

"the minister of propaganda.."
Propaganda would that be like this revelation that the Dems lied their a$$ off to get the useful idiot vote?
"But you know, the temptation to want to win back the Congress, we sort of stretched the facts â;¦ and people ate it up."
Congressman admits Democrats "stretched the facts," misled anti-war supporters about supposed plans for ending War
http://jeffemanuel.net/paul-kanjorski-pa-11-adm...
"I'll tell you my impression. We really in this last election, when I say we...the Democrats, I think pushed it as far as we can to the end of the fleet, didn't say it, but we implied it. That if we won the Congressional elections, we could stop the war. Now anybody was a good student of Government would know that wasn't true. But you know, the temptation to want to win back the Congress, we sort of stretched the facts...and people ate it up."

"Now anybody was a good student of Government," said Kanjorski, "would know that wasn't true [that they "could stop the war"]." Fortunately for those Democrats who campaigned, and were elected, based on their war-ending promises, their hardcore supporters, their activists, and their base of voters, are all made up of people who are, by Mr. Kanjorski's reckoning, very, very poor students of Government."

Well said baddad, It is important to underscore the fact tht these men/women have been put in harm's way by an administration & military system that values the many of instruments of war. Our care for them as friends, relatives, neighbors, and, fundamentally, our fellow-citizens should not be in doubt!

"Btw,i have a neice and nephew in Iraq now,and they don't agree with this war either, but they are soldiers and will do their jobs with honor as is expected of them.I would expect nothing less of them either, but that doesn't mean that we have to agree."
Huh. "Doing their jobs with honor", even though they don't want to be there? Even though they don't agree with the war in Iraq? How is THAT possible?
I'll tell you how. In the sociopathic mind of a Liberal, everything contradicts everything else, yet somehow seems reasonable to them.
Thanks for your service to our country, "baddad", but no thanks. Reading your comments, I can see you're one of the liberal malcontent veterans I spoke about in my post yesterday. A true veteran doesn't spit on his country or his government, and if he disagrees, he should disagree in silence, out of respect for his fellow veterans.
Your comments negate any service you've done.

saint, you are either grossly misinformed, a liar, or an idiot. A true patriotic veteran is concerned in the direction that this administration is taking this country. A person in the military is to do as he is told whether he agrees with it or not. The consequences of disobeying is sever. Once a person leaves the military he goes into a civilian life that allows him to think and form his own opinions. He has fought for his right to disagree with the leader of our country that was kept in the states by his father so he could avoid combat.

By spitting on his country, he means you have dared to doubt the wisdom of the president; and worse, you disagree with saintetienne.
These people regard you as a great threat, baddad; you cannot be a patriot or 'real' veteran if you question authority. Particularly if saintetienne is the authority.
Plastic patriotism; fake, bloodless, sweatless; the endless praising of oneself while standing at attention to the flag.

"The information from Saddam's secret files clearly show he had every intention of striking America when possible"
After the way Ronnie's 'Valued Trading Partner" was treated by the first Bush, and the continued sanctions and bombings by Clinton Administration, certainly would give him motive. However he still lacked the means and oppurtunity. Not a threat worth an invasion and occupation that has cost countless lives.
"He broke rules in the peace agreement and we launched a few missiles."
Between 1999 and 2001, the U.S. and British-led air forces in Iraq dropped 1.3 million pounds of bombs in response to purported violations of the no-fly zones and anti-aircraft fire from Saddam Hussein.
By August of 1999, American and British pilots had fired more than 1,100 missiles against 359 targetsâ;;that year alone.

Don't forget the WMD's that Saddam was manufacturing but wait he hid them so well that they still haven't been found. He was going to place them on his new missiles that were capable of striking anywhere in the world but wait they haven't found those either.

Teagen, I for one would like to say Thank You for your service. I do not agree with your point of view, however, I do appreciate your passion.
"The information from Saddam's secret files clearly show he had every intention of striking America when possible."
Why does everything with this administration have to be a secret? I guess with no evidence, there is no testimony, therefore no accountability.
The fact is, Iraq never attacked us. Iraq had nothing to do with 9-11. That leaves freeing Iraqis from Saddam's repressive rule as the sole rational for "war". Is the US in the liberation business? Will Bush spread "democracy" to Myamnar, Congo, Turkmenistan, Cambodia, Nigeria, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan or Laos, just to name a few places where people can't vote, speak freely or eat much?
The whole Bush doctrine of pre-emptive war and the recklessness of Bush diplomacy is causing alarm for citizens inside and outside the military.

I have been saying the same thing for a year, but no one listens(about Saddam). I have mixed opinions about the draft. Basic training would have to change back to the old days, even before I came in '86. You would also have to change the pay scale, but that is for another time.
Keep it up, if enough of us talk often enough maybe someone will start to listen.

"I don't want your loser kids "
You insult another soldier's kids because you disagree with them politicaly?
About baddad: "I've read his ramblings. Just because he saw combat doesn't mean he speaks for me or my people"
So you admit YOU don't speak for all soldiers?
You talk like they appointed you spokesman and anyone who disagrees with you is spitting on the flag.
"The information from Saddam's secret files clearly show he had every intention of striking America when possible"
This is flat wrong. A lengthy examination of all the documents collected showed he never mentioned attacking America. And that was the reason the Pentagon and whitehouse downplayed the report.
"I want people who love this country as much as I do serving with me"
Does that means people who agree with you? Then you don't love your country, you love yourself.

Being a veteran of both desert wars and my family has been in all of the wars the since this country was founded. I think they should have the all volunteer force and just let more volunteer. The drawdown was not a good idea and it left gaps. Otherwise start putting signs up at the borders for anybody crossing that is under the age of thirty-five for forced induction. No deferments this time either. If you cannot fight you will go to work supporting the fight.

Based on what exactly?
Did a draft stop WW2, Korea or Vietnam? Nope, so what makes you belive that a draft would end this war?

Your crass rudeness is to the point of being abusive. You don't know the "real circumstance" of many if any of us here on Propeller. You and others with the similar political leanings are always assuming too much when facts are not in evidence. Some people with impressive military records do not choose to talk about them and others do and that is alright, too.
Btw, calling people names only reflects back on the name caller as it shows that persons level of maturity and education.

Then he won't be long for any key positions under control of the DNC. Their leadership is clearly anti-military and the draft clearly falls under that. On the topic of a draft, where are you getting the money for it? Cutting welfare, health care, education and housing for illegal aliens? It's funny how the DNC pitches the idea of starting a draft yet the GOP always gets the blame.
This whole topic is little more than the DNC playing political games.
