On Memorial Day I don't just remember the Wars or victims, I remember the passing of loved members of my family and friends.

I have loved that song from the first time I heard it. It actually brought my dad and I closer together the last few years of his life.
He thought I was a bitter Nam vet who hated America. He couldn't understand that I loved my country but did not trust the leadership any more.
When he heard me play and sing along with this song. He said "You really love America?" I said "Dad I was willing to die for her. What do you think?" "You don't die for something you hate."
We had a few good years of understanding after that.

Memorial Day..5/26/86 My mother passed away, so needless to say, Memorial Day has bad memories for me, especially when it falls on 5/26.

Thanks EE. Great. Have loved that song since I first heard Lee Greenwood sing it.
This really is the time for me to remember all those that touched my life as I have grown older. Remembering all the veterans of pass and present wars that have passed on and showing thanks and respect for those that are still with us.
