Too Little, Too Late! Crude oil prices have been shooting into stratosphere for more than two years, while these Bureaucrats were sleeping at the wheel! Only when Conservatives and Republicans started getting angry over the gas prices that these political appointees started moving! Their investigations started in December, 2007 - too little, too l

There are supposed to be 5 Commissioners running this agency! They are supposed to be keeping a vigilant eye on the oil and commodity markets.

There are only four, one commissioner missing!

These guys saw this disaster of rising gas prices in slow motion over two years and did nothing!

Only when Conservative and Republican lawmakers started getting angry that these bozos woke up and started moving - in December, 2007!

Is there an excuse for this inaction? It sure looks like Nero was fiddling while Rome wass burning!

Makes me wonder what was in it for the commissioners. With this admin, i am seeing conspiracies around every corner, paranoia at it's worst. I will get on my hands and knees and thank God so gratefully when they are gone, and pray for our new admin to be able to do something about the mess they will inheirate. It's not going to be easy.

Well, it would seem to mee that those were in on the real estate pyramid have found a new scam.

Oil futures instead of housing futures.

What is next medical futures? Lets see where they can literally make a killing. Hmmmmm? Food futures are already being manipulated to inflate food prices and drive the profits higher.

Investments are one thing. Controlling the market another.

Start putting the scummy bastar*s in prison who cause this illegal and immoral pyramid scam.

Good find searchbeam. I can only wonder the mis-direction was actually a directive given, to look the other way, or else. What's the going rate on a job with a title like that?Or, what's the price to pay for a job with a title like that?

If we connect the dots, it gets very interesting!

Iraq, which has the second largest oil reserves in the world, was suddenly taken out of the supply chain because of Iraqi War! Whatever Iraqi oil that makes to the Persian Gulf port has already been stolen twice, with the black market money supporting the insurgents and making some really nasty characters very rich - and I am not talking about the nasty characters on our soil: you know who!

Experts estimate that only about 10% of the Iraqi oil is being pumped out, causing a massive shortage on the world market!

Lots of people are making lots of dirty money in the oil business! Do you think these Keystone Cops will ever find them? Don't bet your farm on it!

Good article... thanks for the heads up, searchbeam.

There is no logical reason that any of us need oil or gasoline for fueling our cars, trucks, or warming our homes. Cheap energy that is envionmentally safe has already been invented and has proven to work. And it cost nearly nothing to make!

Demand that your represenatives and the presidential candidates respond to this link below. Then they can prove that they are not owned and beholden to the oil companies when they admit that cheap and safe energy is being withheld from us.

We have to stop asking the fox to fix our hen house.

Why don't we just take all oil stocks and the like and suspend trading them for 6 months? Wonder what would happen?

For those of my friends here who are curious, here is a list of the current Commissioners of CFTC:

              1. Walter Lukken, Acting Chairman - Lawyer, Member of Illinois Bar - Probably sponsored by Sen. Richard Lugar, R-Indiana

              2. Michael Dunn - Probably sponsored by Sen.Tom Harkin, D-Iowa

              3. Jill E Sommers - Ex Member of Chicago Mercantile Exchange - Probably sponsored by Ex-Senator Bob Dole, R-Kansas

              4. Bart Chilton - Probably sponsored by Ex-Senator Ton Daschle, D-South Dakota

These are all political appointees, some or all of them lawyers.

I often wondered why lawyers end up getting on these opaque Commissions and Authorities, and even end up running the largest bureaucracy in our Country - Department of Homeland Security!

History has shown us that - barring an occasional exception - most of these lawyers are the most incompetent managers you can ever find. They would not last a day doing hard work in the Private Sector!

              More..
