Did Bush Lie to Launch the Iraq War? »
Posted By omerazam 1 year, 6 months ago in NewsBush supporters, this time it isn't a `liberal whacker' saying it. It's from a longtime Bush friend and loyalist who finally got a conscience. Straight from former White House Press Secretary

Actually, the entire question as to whether or not Bush should be prosecuted is rather senseless. There is so much damed evidence it's sinful!
Now before you ask why the dems don't prosecute since they have control, THEY NEED 2/3 MAJORITY!

Honestly...
Do you believe that our country went after Clinton for getting a BJ, but even with the "loads" of evidence they won't go after Bush?
There is a reason why Bush hasn't been prosecuted for anything. Believe it or not, theres nothing to prosecute him for.

if enough evidence were presented Republicans would have to vote in favor of... or they would be viewed as nothing more than partisan....
remember it was Republicans that convinced Nixon to resign.. they would have voted to impeach..
take it to the bank they are not going to go down with this ship...

Did he lie to go to war? hell yea he did..I want to know why, why was it so much more important to leave Afghanistan where the Taliban were? Why leave the most dangerous hot spot in the world, Pakistan? We all know GB Sr. pictures were the doormats to the palace entrances, but is that sufficient reason to kill 100's of thousands of people? If so, what's the difference between him and Hitler? What is the role of Congress, the House of representatives and how could they swallow that brine when they all knew the truth? There not all idiots, what do they know that we don't? If it's about greed and turn to look the other way, what have we become? If it's some far religious right that want to kill all of Islam, what have we become? (an insane asylum)

Yep - here's a great time-line of what happened after 9/11 and a chronology of the build-up of false information to support the drumbeats for invading Iraq --
http://washingtonbureau.typepad.com/nationalsec...
FTA --
The Bush administration was gunning for Iraq within days of the 9/11 attacks, dispatching a former CIA director, on a flight authorized by Deputy Defense Secretary Paul Wolfowitz, to find evidence for a bizarre theory that Saddam Hussein was responsible for the first World Trade Center attack in 1993.

Of course he lied...he knew that Iraq didn't have weapons of mass destruction & he said they did. He said that Saddam was a supporter of Al Qaeda and he wasn't. Saddam hated fundamentalism and he actually hunted them down. The west mainly the USA and Britain gave Saddam gas during the Iran/Iraq war which he used on the Iranians because they were winning the war. Programs have shown the companies who made these products. American disinformation might as well be known as Pravda who were famous in the late USSR for their campaign in propaganda. Shame on America and the fascist state that it has become!!

Poor Colin Powell. I believe he is a man of great integrity. I saw his performance at the UN. It was truly sad. Im not sure why there is all this argument about history. Simply vote for Barack Obama and wash the Republican tide down the drain.

IMHO, Little Bush thought Papa Bush didn't finish the job. He wasn't going to make the same mistake. He was going to do something right that his Dad didn't. He would have his war no matter what; anyone who looked even halfway dispasssionately at the runup could see Little Bush wasn't going to take "No" for an answer. It certainly didn't hurt that Sadam was a world-class schmuck who rightly didn't command a shred of sympathy from anyone.
Did Little Bush lie? Dunno. I'm not sure that when he sees something he wants that he can or chooses to distinguish between truth and untruth. Seems to me that he's a decent, not-too-intelligent guy, who probably fits well into the Cactus Gulch Chamber of Commerce, and who has major problems with the idea of trying to follow a successful parent. Not unusual really. Through circumstances and having the same name as a successful parent he's gotten into a position far above what he can competently handle.

There are some very simple facts as I see them to this disgusting era in American history.
1) Bush lied to American Public. In his zeal to 'finish his father's war' or 'democratize the Middle East' he listened to bad counsel and outdated information. Did Saddam need to be deposed? Yes. But it should have been by his countrymen. We did that job for them and we continue to pay for Bush's meddling in the internal affairs of another country, every day.
2) There were no WMD's. Even when they found suspicious items the administration crowed 'this is it!'. Every instance was disproved.
3) Bush continued to try to legitimize this war. Desperately trying to give us new demons to face.
4) The American people are going to pay for this for a long, long time. Face it, our reputation in the international community is shot. Foreign governments and economic institutions are using their powers against us. Four dollar a gallon gas, higher food prices, and economic instability is only a start.

"Did Bush Lie to Launch the Iraq War?"
(duh...yes) That one is a given... The best title for an article on Bush's integrity or lack thereof would be:
"When Has Bush Told the Truth?"
(The last time he called in sick for work. He told the truth by accident, though he still doesn't know it.)

What a cynic. We had a president known for lying. Clinton. He had the rolling disclosures before his election. He committed perjury and defended it by saying "It depends an what the meaning of is is."
Everybody in the Clinton administration was saying the same thing that the Bush administration did. The Democrat and Republican congressmen under both Clinton and Bush said the same thing. The leaders of the western world and their intelligence agencies were saying it as well. But you can't give up your mantra that Bush lied. Argument ad Nauseam.

Why make a scapegoat out of George W. Bush? The psychotic fool was manipulated. Although he is not above lying for tactical reasons, he truly believes he was chosen to lead a Crusade. Click http://www.villagevoice.com/news/0342,schanberg...
Scott McClellan deserves little credit either. His book is damage control. Read "The Death of Jim Hatfield" and learn what the Bush family does to anyone who stands in their way. http://www.davidcogswell.com/Essays/DeathHatfie...

A good point.
It is unquestionably true that Bush got many Americans to support the invasion of Iraq by making assertions which were terribly untrue. But the accusation of lying goes to volition - Did Bush know the statements were false, or was he delusional enough to have actually believed in the verity of his falshoods? Only his therapist knows for sure...
