Man oh man; Special K had to do something to be remembered by. Hey but if it's true let's get it rolling, tomorrow. Will the brave dems actually have what it takes to do more than posture for the up coming election?
Remember, the Republicans weren't skert and actually went through the process. I'll bet a nanner to a dolla that the Dems will not have what it takes to do more than beat their chest and use this action in campaign adds.
Let's see 6 months left and the brave K has put forth something that is used more as extra ammo for their Golden One to win in November. After all, who's going to want to vote for a party with articles of impeachment on record? Dang guys, you can't even come up with your own Ideas and have to steal them from Newt.

I like the idea of holding our politicians on BOTH side responsible, if Bush is Guilty I'll be right there with all you that hate him so much. Right now he's still innocent until you PROVE you accusations,,,,, you know accusations that are unproven as of yet. If your gonna talk the tough talk let's actually seem some action, the Democratic run House and Senate has done little more than Bloviate for 2 years.
AS I said, I like to see BOTH parties held accountable, so while your at it Denny, remember to finish off the guy with frozen money and Feinstein for lining her pockets with military money. Oh yeah, I'd also love for you to look into the carbon credit company that will rake in billions of dollars of payola that will not remove one nano-gram of stuff from the air.

what i mean is: as a country we are being duped and dumbed down. and, if we continue we will have contributed to our enslavement...we're already 3rd world. or, had you noticed?
I recently had dinner with an economist and an exec with Chevron. IN a nutshell, the crux of conversation led to the conclusion that we need to conserve dramatically and bring the business back to america. we need to be better business folks. PERIOD! WAKE UP!
so, we have a resource called propeller and the internet. i think we should all stay in close touch and help each other as much as humanly possible.
social networks are King!
here's one I just joined. it focuses on the world as one.

If you think Bush is innocent then you are uninformed or nonobjective.
The fact that you compare Hastert and Feinstein's alleged misdeeds with what's alleged in the Articles of Impeachment tells me that you're partisan.
Keep fiddling Nero.

If this was going to be a trial brought in a court in any city, county or federal court in the country more than enough evidence is public knowledge that would warrant a prosecutor to convene a grand jury. Between the war, the torture, the domestic spying program, signing statements and malfeasance with Katrina don't agree with me?
That's all we're asking for is a grand jury.

Walden, I think you're blaming the wrong person if all you complaint circles around Iraq. Saddam was accused by Bush 41 and Clinton of having WMD, that included chemical, biological and nuclear weapons. We've found the chemical and bio weapons or at least products buried that were supposed to have been destroyed. As to nuclear, I wonder about it. We haven't found much of anything, even the stuff we know he purchased prior to the Gulf War. I suspect all of this went to Syria. While not friendly, in fact Saddam had a plot to kill Assad, for some reason Saddam's family is now under the protection of the Syrian Army. That had to be paid for with something. Perhaps one of the trucks filled with money or other valuables, perhaps something more sinister. Such as the chemical, biological or nuclear weapon destroyed in Syria last summer by the Mossad.
Don't impeach Bush, he's got 6 month to go. Investigate the CIA and their 15 years of faulty intel.

Bush 41 kenw he had chemical because he and Raygun help Saddam stockpile them. The nuke program Saddam had started was destroyed in the first gulf war and was never re-consituted. Clinton never advocated the use of US ground troops in an invasion and occupation and Bush 41 wrote and published his reasons for not removing Saddam.
The only chemical and bio weapons we've found were leftovers from Bush41/Raygun days.
Syria does not have Saddams fabled WMD Stockpile or production facilities, their still steaming around the Indian ocean dontchaknow......

Bush 41 and Clinton of having WMD - Did either of these presidents started this war? And wasnt this a war on terror those that knocked down the WTC? What did WMD in Iraq have to do with BNL?

--As usual, your upside down perspective rears its ugly head, slater. Cons have been crapping their pants over that 90 grand ever since lying criminal and Bushco wh0re ALBERTO GONZALES totally BOTCHED the criminal investigation. With $5 a gallon gas on the horizon, why don't wingjobs bitch over what Cheney and Big Oil execs discussed (on the taxpayers dime and time) in those secret energy meetings? Why don't you cry and shriek on endlessly about the more than 12 BILLION of your tax dollars GOP sleazebags gave to oil companies? Please explain your bizarre fascination with William Jefferson while we're learning that Abramoff was in contact with the White House more than seventy times (yep...Bush doesn't know him...sure). Explain your schizoid perspective, please. ;-(

I agree with you as to having both parties held accountable. I think there is so much corruption in the Democratic party and Republican party because the people on Capitol Hill seem to forget who it is they represent and what document they have sworn to uphold. I think there are a lot of them that should be shown the door and Americans who want to serve the country ushered in in their stead.

When the Republicans brought impeachment proceedings against Bill Clinton they had a clear majority in Congress. The Democrats only have a slight majority at this time. And since the Republicans will not cross over and support impeachment because of the further damage it will do to their party nothing will get accomplished.

I think once it does people will be out there trying to cover their asses and then you have him. At this point the corporate media is protecting him but they too will turn on him for fear that the people will turn on them!
Get them out in the open I say and then the cookie will crumble!

--If you truly cared about getting to the truth, you would've wanted the "brave" GOP to get the ball rolling during the six years *they* were in control of the Congress. Perhaps if they had, they would'n't have lost in 2006 and they wouldn't be getting sent packing in record number come November. There's a price to be paid for backing Bush against the interests of the American people for 8 years and it's the implosion of the GOP. I'm loving watching it with each passing day.

((Slate, you are wrong!
but, you are not worth my time to argue...just support this man. let go of your ego. ))
Well I see that your 'ego' would not allow you to pass on my 'worthless' post.
Although it seems that my post was worth the time for you to shoot a shot across me bow?
Let's see, I've said many times in the past and repeated in this very thread, that IF Bush is guilty then Impeach him,,,, not worth your time? I said I'm for BOTH sides to have their feet to your Fire,,,,, you're arguing with me about that?
I do think your statement about Denny is way off base though; he has very little gravitas in the body politics if you ask me. If he was indeed a 'force to be reckoned with', then why has he been whining about this for how many years now and Nancy just now, at the last minute gave him her blessing with the strike of her gavel?

Aderholt and Wolf didn't meet with President Assad. They met with a lower level member and discussed the large numbers of Iraqis living in Syria. From what I remember, and forgive me if I don't remember last year, I thought this trip had the blessings of State Department. Hobbson I don't know, he was with the princess.

Education apparently has nothing to do with common sense. It's an area filled with educated idiots. As for my level of education you know nothing about, but that's typical for you. You seem to write about many things you know nothing about. I worked for Flour and Bechtel in the bay area and the reason for the high household income is because the cost of living there, not their level of education.

It's nice to see they're that smart. Just because you have a high GPA doesn't mean you're a good barista. Never mistake intelligence levels for being smart. The Bay area has a very Anti-American attitude 99% of the time. Contrary to your whine & cheese crowd, America isn't the cause of all of the world's problems. In the last 100 years we stopped polio, small pox, TB and many other illnesses. We stopped the Nazis, Fascists, Imperialists, communism and we're working on Radical Islam. I know how the end of communism must pain you. Then again for an area so "wealthy" you're some of the cheapest when it comes to charities and tipping.

I was looking for it on CSPAN.org. I suppose they will put it out there soon enough. The question is, does Rep. Kucinich have enough votes to move this to committee? Does he have sufficient time to get this through before the fall election? Will Nancy Pelosi let it move forward, or will Republicans claim this is an election year prank?

There, of course, is no evidence for any of the thousands of gods humans have created and groveled to for the hundreds of thousands of years humans have been crawling around on the planet, ruled and raped by these strong men, most of whom claimed to be gods themselves, or claimed to have a half jew/half god as his "favorite philosopher".

better late than never. I am glad that he presented eye witness evidence from former insiders.
it now appears that the conquest of iraq was designed to provide a launching pad for mideast operations; they were easy to take as they were already vulnerable and we now have a military base larger than the vatican.
if nothing else, perhaps presenting this on the record will prevent authorization of an assault on iran.

I wouldn't care if you were A Democrat, A Republican , A Libertarian, A Communist, Or a Fascist. You should be impeached and tried for treason. For you are no man of any honesty or worth.
Good job Mr. Kucinich. Lets see if the rest of the cowards will step up and back you. Instead of shrinking into the pathetic line of we dont have enough votes, what would it matter anyway?

Thank God! I have the utmost respect for Dennis Kucinich. The should be brought to the floor. This needed to happen long ago.
Incidentally, I just checked the websites for CNN and MSNBC. Nothing! If our media would DO THEIR JOB and cover this, a groundswell of public support would be quite evident. SHAME ON THEM for being complicit in the crimes of George W. Bush!
I hope this will grow legs and lead to the prosecution of this crime family. FINALLY!

Kucinich's action made an immediate splash on the Internet. For example, at progressive website Democratic Underground, the historic performance quickly garnered an astonishing 56 separate threads on the most-recommended list.
However, the mainstream media were far more reticent in their coverage of Kucinich's resolution -- much as they were following the release last week of the Senate Intelligence Committee's report on the administration's misuse of prewar intelligence. For example, the Washington Post and USA Today had short items in their blog sections, while other major outlets merely ran wire service coverage from AP or Reuters

Again, the hard right to moderate right american big 4 TV news media couldn't give a crap about what is actually going on, unless it means someone is making or losing a war, or billions of dollars.
The news media only cares about making money.
The news media only cares about selling commercials to the biggest market there is, the walmart crowd.
They have no concept of themselves as the fourth leg of this democracy. Murdock is more australian than american, more english than american. If fox news started losing money, he'd fire O'Reily yesterday. What sells? Tabloidism, and hard right point of view swiftboating relativism. F*ck democracy.
When the people of this country are misinformed, as in the lead up to the war, due to psy ops from our own media and a need to suck up to money and power, when the media owners are more interested in bottom line tabloidism than journalism, its game over for this country.

Try listening to Free Speech Radio News (fsrn.com) or National Public Radio (npr.com). Both are also on the radio. Then there is Free Speech TV. They offer an alternative view but I still take everything with a grain of salt until I can look around and try to verify the veracity and accuracy of the reporting.
I think that one cannot listen to only mainstream media and get an accurate depiction of any event. They are more like Survivor or Big Brother (examples, I don't watch either) than the news, imvho. Just a thought.

I submit the belief that in most places, in which a war is taking place far away and not effecting them directly (except via economic meltdown) and an economic collapse is occurring, the economic collapse will be the primary cause of worry. Fortunately or unfortunately, depending how you look at it, its just how humans are. We care more about things that we can obviously see affecting us.

There is plenty of evidence, just not enough people in congress that will do the right thing. Republicans won't support any move against the current administration because it would damage them and their party. It's the main problem with politics, it's always the good of the party over the good of the country.

we know Iraq was a premeditated affair using cherry-picked intel fitted to that prior agenda. We know all those people didn't need to die, but were used as a means to an end [and are still being used as such]
But I have zero confidence that Bush Inc will see justice.

Ron Paul agrees to every tax cut. He votes against any extension of governmental powers and I'd not be surprised to find he considers the woman's right to choose to be a state one. I'm not sure about his stance on abortion if the truth is told, or other reproductive rights, I'd have to research it a bit.

Ron Paul does not think the feds should handle the issue of abortion, but, rather the state. I dont think anyone has the right to make laws re: womens rights.
there are things about ron paul that i do not agree with.
but, we must rememeber, Dr. Ron Paul is an OB/GYN
that right there should let you know he is pro life. but, this is why he took the oath of Hippocrates.
essentially, he is an honest man who walks the walk.

Paul is "...an unshakable foe of abortion..." who believes life begins at conception. While he makes noise that he wants to leave it to the states to decide, as President he would be able to appoint SCOTUS justices. I get the feeling Roe v. Wade would be as big a litmus test as it is for anyone.

"9/11 would have happened whoever was President."
That's debatable. I am NOT a conspiracy theorist at all. I think the 9/11 truthers infiltrating these threads are just as nutty as those on the loony right.
That said, it is CLEAR that Bush was asleep at the wheel. I truly beleive Al Gore would not have been.
But we will never know, will we? And that's too bad...

Great, $ 4.00 /gallon gasoline and this moron wants to waste more time and money. How about actually creating an energy policy that can function without the need for us to invent the perpetual motion machine or solve the problems of cold fusion.
This nation needs a real energy plan that includes coal, oil and nuclear. The other sciences pushed by the left are simply not possible to meet the levels we need today and in the future. In order to drill, mine and build, congress would actually have to listen to the people. Without energy, things will slow and stop. If taxes remain high along with the labor & benefit costs, by having huge increases in energy will cause the rest of us to pull out. We will fall even further into a service only economy.
Denny, stop wasting time and actually start working on something that will help your state and the American people. Get a practical energy policy done.

Well, lets see. Suppose that bushie and his zioncons had worked on energy efficiency rather than wasting trillions or dollars and millions of lives on phony wars. I bet you were chanting for that for the last 7 years?
A question. Do you see any possibility of increasing oil, gas and coal production by 10-20 fold so that the rest of the world can flame off energy at the same rate as Americans?
Given that the US has only about 5% of the world's reserves of uranium, do you think nuclear will do anything for our energy independence? Do you think it is worth shiiittting in our own backyard for a few years of nukes?
The only serious response is that we have to reduce our energy usage by a factor of two every decade for the next 3-4 decades.

Removal of the Bush regime? You really did go to Berkeley didn't you. We have a change every 4 years, they're called elections. As to trials, Saddam was arrested and convicted for crimes against his people. It would be very difficult to convict Bush on any current laws.
As to Carter, he had already lost the election when his scam was passed. That plus his ecco nazis helped the mass drive to rid America of industry. For someone who claimed to be such a human rights advocate, Carter never explained his fascination with dictators like Castro or Marcos. Perhaps you should use Kennedy as an example next time. Then again, he's the one who gave Iran the nuclear reactor..

Berkeley is a top flight school, with very very high admissions standards. Top tier science, journalism, law, business...you name it.
Carter and his ecological nazis? They were the ones who killed american industry? Or was it cheap labor overseas in combination with industry having to pay HEALTH costs for their employees, as apposed to every other civilized society who's industry doesn't, and the insurance lobby who preserves the status quo.

we were trying to discuss his ENERGY POLICY and you go off on some MINDLESS RANT..
and we may very well find out how hard it is to CONVICT Bush on any current laws....
maybe even INTERNATIONAL LAWS.. could be fun.. and benificial..

The Bush presidency qualifies as a regime. He was appointed, not elected, by the Supreme Court. He did not win Florida or the popular vote in 2000. In 2004 he gained the presifency by voter fraud and illegal manipulation of the vote in at LEAST two states. You really don't think that the American people were stupid enough to put this incompetant criminal in power twice ,do you?

Yes, obviously we did. I do agree he was appointed, but a sizable percentage of poor working class evangelicals voted to put this corporate regime in power, voted to make the rich richer.
50 % of the american "citizens" believe a god created the universe 4000 years ago, then made the half life of uranium 760 million years, just to throw us off.

Wasting time and money is not a new experience. Either stop wasting all time and money or don't bother. You seem to support selective wasting of time and money.
As we have discussed before, status quo will not solve our energy problems. At one time in our history, the US was the leader in areas like this, but now we follow. We need to lead again. Ironically, there is a huge financial return waiting in non-fossil fuel energy sources.

You really have no concept of a global economy do you? I work in big business. By simply cutting back will not increase anything.
I'm currently building 9 plants in China to convert coal to a gasoline product. As to your second question, yes. Within 5 years we could do the same here and solve over 50% of the US fuel needs with coal based gas.
Uranium, our reserves are higher than that. As to your ignorance, go to France. It's clear you're one of the ostriches who buried their heads in the sand after 3 mile island. The French didn't. We could build a large number of small to medium size plants that are very efficient and clean. Waste is very low. You don't like that, coal is always a low cost answer.
The 1970's proved the Carter energy plan of cutting back and taxing the crap out of oil profits isn't the answer.

Actually I have a much better concept of the global economy than you. And of energy usage. Nuclear energy is ONLY competitive with enormous public subsidies. The reason we have not built any nuclear plants in recent years is because private money knows that and will NOT finance nuke plants. Simple as that. And, by the way, our reserves of uranium are exactly as I stated.

I am assuming you don't factor the effect of burning coal and dumping CO2 into the atmosphere like some open sewer, increasing CO2 concentration in the atmosphere into the equation. I doubt "you" are building anything, much less negotiating contracts with China for coal plants. If you are, then I can't saw much for the intelligence of the coal industry.
If you are blaming the 1970 economy on any one politician, and not factoring in the vietnam era and Nixon, and his economic policies and rampant inflation, and Carters intrest in weaning the usa off Saudi Arab oil for national security reasons, then you are as the blind man feeling the trunk of an elephant and yelling like some deranged neocon, its a SNAKE!

Because Carter has the stones to appose the AIPAC lobby for one, just guessing.
And since Arabs sell us about 40% of our oil, they can spend our money however they want.
Hey, drop, how would you rank AIPAC in terms of power for lobby groups?

Anti Isreal comment relying on acronym's instead of the usual term "Zionists". I'm more concerned about the Saudis funding the construction of Wahabbist mosques all over the world and currently controls 70% of U.S. mosques and dominates the Islamic movement in the prison system.

Are you one of the complainers about high fuel prices? You should not complain if you don't want us to use the energy sources we have now.
And you can thank your savior Al Gore for fostering this fear of CO2, the gas that all plant-life needs to exist.

Gee, maybe when Cheney secretly invited foreign oil ministers and execs of oil companies to write our "new" energy policy in 2001, he could have prioritized finding NEW and renewable sources of energy.
As for your Al Gore statement, CO2 can both help and harm us. No one wants to banish CO2 from our atmosphere. But an overabundance of it is a big problem.
Another example of a gas that can both help and harm us is ozone (O3). It's a problem when inhaled directly. But good in the upper atmosphere where it blocks the sun's UV rays.

You know what they told him ... "we need to drill more holes and build more refineries because demand is growing faster than supplies".
But the Congress said "NO". Lets make fuel out of corn! That will help the farmers and big growers and they will thank and send us back here.
So ... years pass and prices go up and people say "what happened" Those bastards are cheating us!
The real bastards are in Congress, my friend.

the price at the pump... and flow are controlled at the refinery....cost of refining is relatively fixed.. that is where the profit is made...
I have a friend in the bulk fuel delivery service.. fairly big company.. they purchased a refinery in Houston.. that's been closed since around 1992... for less that 50 mill they could have brought it back on line...
they applied for the necessary permits and they were granted....
before work began .. Exxon / Mobile.. gave them 6 times what they had paid for this refinery.. and tore up the permits..
not the well head...

You know that is an excellent point about Cheney's secret energy sit down with the business execs. Cheney has worked so hard to keep it all secret. What was discussed - how to divide Iraqi oil fields, how to enrichen the oil companies? Who knows. What our public servants do is apparently secret.

If you want industry leaders to say what's on their minds, you have to guarantee their words will be kept private. Is that so hard for you to understand, Walden?
If they have to measure their words by what will be in the NY Times the next day, they may just keep quiet.
But you would prefer to think something sinister went on ...
