This man was a Drug Czar. That does not qualify him for much more. An insider? You have to be kidding. If he is such an insider, why is he working for CNN? Oh, because he is a Reagan era has-been. You are going to have to do better than that. Bill Bennett's opinion is about as valid as my grandmother's from her grave.

Top 10 Reasons Not to Vote for McCain
Patrick J. Buchanan
My favorite is #8
"8. McPsycho McCain is famous for going postal on his Republican colleagues dropping the F-word, calling them fuc$ing idiots and worse. His dangerous inability to control his temper comes from a God-complex and an ingrained contempt for other human beings. One of his colleagues commented, "I don't want this guy anywhere near a trigger." Given his mental state, McCain could end up nuking Terre Haute instead of Tehran."

Obama's associations and tax policies trouble me the most about his presidential candidacy. And it's hard to believe that anyone in the Moveon.org/Soros orbit is really serious about defending our borders, national defense or terrorism. The type of "change" that Obama would provide is definitely not for the better.

Stephen, you are 100% right on! Obama is a LIAR; has ties to REZKO (deeper ties that he will admit but be prepared for an "October" surprise coming from the Republicans on OBAMA and HOW and REZKO worked together on ILLEGAL MONIES); OBAMA is NOT A CHRISTIAN (according to the WORD OF THE LIVING GOD); HE is definitely friends with FARRAKKAN and went with HIS RACIST PASTOR to IRAN to present FARRAKKAN one of the highest awards the church gives; HE has NO experience in FORIEGN POLICY; HE IS A MUSLIM; His Cousin is the LEADER of the African movement that is causing all the harm and killing in that nation; OBAMA distorts SCRIPTURE AND THE CONSTITUTION; HE talks about "change", but, it is NOT "change for the better in AMERICA", HE is FLUENT in SPANISH; HE will meet with Rogue Nations without pre-conditions; and the list goes on. THESE things have NOT been "DEBUNKED" and CANNOT BE DEBUNKED because these are OBAMA's OWN WORDS. Go to: dontvoteobama.net

from the WASHINGTON POST
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/ar...
"European officials are increasingly concerned that Sen. Barack Obama's campaign pledge to begin direct talks with Iran on its nuclear program without preconditions could potentially rupture U.S. relations with key European allies early in a potential Obama administration.
the Europeans have no confidence in this guy whatsoever......

Europe is right in Iran's back yard, so to speak. They're going to be hit first when missiles start to fly. They're now realizing that the U.S., helmed by the Bush administration, has led the effort of keeping the Middle East at bay all these years.
Now there's going to be a change in the White House, and if that change involves the inexperienced Jive Turkey with poor judgement and even worse communication skills, it's not going to bode well for European safety.

While I appreciate some opposition to Obama that is substantive, and not based on spurious "facts" and innuendo, I did not find these ten reasons very convincing. Why? Because I did not find the reasoning behind the author's assertions to be very sound. But, I am still listening...

For example, "granting habeas-corpus rights to terrorists, including â;; theoretically â;; Osama bin Laden": the idea is that you do not know if someone is a terrorist until you can grant him his habeas-corpus rights. If we already know the Guantanamo detainees are guilty, why bother even giving them a trial?

"When Barack Obama speaks of taxing only the wealthy, keep in mind this could have a devastating effect on new small businesses." The truth is, I don't see many wealthy people starting small businesses: the small businesses in my neighborhood are all started by immigrants, hungry for success.

"Mr. Obama favors [ethanol] subsidies, some of which end up in the hands of the same oil companies he says should be subjected to a windfall profits tax."
Targeted tax breaks are the way to get the results we want. The oil companies are nor evil (they may have contributed to the performance of our pension funds). Corporations are not evil (they are us). So what if oil companies can be motivated to offset their taxes with sunsidies for R&D?

When President Bush announced the surge strategy in January 2007, Barack Obama opposed it, saying it "would not prove to be one that changes the dynamics significantly,"
Eventually, whether we leave sooner or later, the Iraqis will come to an accomodation with each other, and with their neighbors, that allows them to livde in something other than a state of seige. That accomodation, reflecting their natural inclinations toward their neighbors, will probably not be something for which we will be happy to have sacrificed our lives and fortune.

We have been turning the corner in Iraq, for years. It's true that the longer we stay there, the better their chances for a reduction in violence. The surge strategy of imbedding US forces in neighborhoods has worked, and the Iraqi forces ARE more successful, as the militias "cry uncle" and call cease-fires. Sure, give them 5 American lives and a billion dollars, per week, until they can get their act in order, and stop killing each other. It's a question of who will tire sooner of losing lives.

I disagree...
It is much more dangerous to go down a road with no idea where you are going or where you might end up. Obama has no road map..if he does now is the time to show it. Change for the sake of change is not the way to go.

Jimmy Carter was dangerous because he was stupid and naive. Bill Clinton was dangerous because he was a narcissistic ******. Nobama is dangerous because he is smart. The only good thing that will come out of a Nobama presidency is it will trigger a long overdue revolt in this country. We are soooooo screwed!!!!

1. Barack Obama's foreign policy is dangerous, naïve, and betrays a profound misreading of history.
1b. McCain's foreign policy is dangerous, naive, and betrays a profound misreading of current events.
2. Barack Obama's Iraq policy will hand al-Qaeda a victory and undercut our entire position in the Middle East, while at the same time put a huge source of oil in the hands of terrorists.
2b. McCain's Iraq policy will hand al-Qaeda a victory by bankrupting the US, killing thousands more Americans and Iraqis, and providing a fertile recruiting ground. AL-QAEDA WASN'T IN IRAQ ON 9/11!!!
3. Barack Obama has sent mixed, confusing, and inconsistent messages on his policy toward Israel.
3b. McCain's ties to lobbyist include Israel. Lobbyists are interested in getting something for themselves, not necessarily what is good for the US or for the world.

4. In the primary campaign, Barack Obama consistently campaigned against NAFTA, but has now changed his tune, as he has with other issues.
4b. McCain doesn't know his position on how NAFTA affects the economy. He hasn't formed opinions. He's not strong on the economy by his own admission. He relies on his advisors, many of them lobbyists, to tell him the best course of action. See 3b about lobbyists.
5. Barack Obama's judgment about personal and professional affiliations is more than troubling.
5b. McCain's judgment about personal and professional affiliations is more than troubling. Keating 5, divorcing his wife because she was no longer pretty enough.

6. Obama is simply out of step with how terrorists should be handled; he would turn back the clock on how we fight terrorism, using the failed strategy of the 1990s as opposed to the post-9/11 strategy that has kept us safe.
6b. McCain's strategy, though it may keep terrorists busy, is a surefire way of making sure that American remains target number 1. Does anyone really believe that it's possible to kill all the terrorists?
7. Barack Obama's economic policies would hurt the economy.
7b. McCain's military policies would hurt the economy. His economic policies would continue to hurt the economy -- or is there a magic surplus after 7 years of giant tax cuts?
8. Barack Obama opposes drilling on and offshore to reduce gas and oil prices.
8b. McCain wants to give a tax holiday on gas. For the summer. So demand will increase. Hmm... maybe if the tax weren't needed to fund his ongoing military ventures...

9. Barack Obama is to the left of Hillary Clinton and NARAL on the issue of life.
9b. McCain is to the right of Hillary Clinton and NARAL on the issue of life. So far as I know, he hasn't yet addressed what is to be done with all the babies that are born to poor mothers. Nor have I heard him talking about real prevention of teen pregnancy. Abstinence works!! Only if you use it.
10. Barack Obama is actually to the left of every member of the U.S. Senate.
- according to some reports. not according to others. p.s. this comment puts him to his own left, since he IS a member of the US Senate.
- being left isn't necessarily wrong. You see 'right' has several meanings, and the one that is opposite 'left' does not mean 'correct'
