Crushed ice is depleted as well, and with the warmest months of summer just around the corner it's likely that the nation will face a Slurpee shortage rivaling the Great Slurpee Famine of 1902.

Well, I guess it's time for me to roll out my new line of "Ice Cube Cozies" made out of the finest quality neoprene!

They come in three popular sizes and a variety of colors, with teenie weenie zippers.

Available at fine retailers near you!

        Ind,

It's a good thing they included a graph on how this whole Ice Cube thing works. Some of our readers out there, including myself, may have been lost without it.

Thanks for lookin' out for us!

I saw this coming years ago and have been hoarding cubes. I have 27,000 pounds, all for sale for five dollars a cube in the near future. Muahahahahah!

This is indeed alarming. For too long we have taken the availabilty of ice cubes for granted. They are a finite resource and can be depleted.

There are a number of ways to extend the supply of cubes we have. One easy one is to use only four cubes per drink as opposed to the conventional six.

Oh my God , we must act now , it not to late , we need to cut our foreign dependency on Ice Cubes , Hybrid Ice makers and H2O credits for the rich , drive the price up so no one can afford to drink cold beverages or make them cut way back .

I saw a poor Polar Bear floating a piece of Styrofoam because there was no Ice for its Coke !

This isn't funny! Internet journalist morons making fun of a serious global problem, likely attempting to alleviate, via humor, their own wastefulness with our shared ecosystem and their own lack of environmental responsibility. When things begin to get disastrously bad, they'll all say, "OOOOh, we didn't realize it was so serious!" IDIOTS!

Looks to me like this is a way to raise the price on ICE. Start a buying frenzy! There is no telling where this will go! Global warning has to be the main cause just like the Arctic Circle. We are DOOMED!

Damn, NO ICE FOR MY TEA, now that really sucks!
