Photovoltaic (PV) power is not renewable, it's not green and it is not efficient. It has not yet been conclusively proven that PV panels pay back the energy that it took to make them. The outrageous cost of PV only looks attractive when taxpayers are forced to pay for half of the system. If PV was so great, wouldn't there be PV factories using this "free" energy to make more solar panels. I worked in the industry for 7 1/2 years and know this stuff to be a sham. They have been "getting the cost down" for thirty years and it still is not worth it. The manufacture of the semiconductor devices that are the solar cells is one of the most environmentally-damaging industries around. We know less about battery disposal than we do about nuclear waste disposal. PV should not be the smallest part of the answer.
