It's been almost 7 years since anthrax powder sent through the mail killed 5 people, threatened the lives of 2 Democratic senators, terrorized the entire nation, and helped prod Congress into passing the Patriot Act. In the intervening years, not only has the killer remained free, but missteps in the investigation have had negative consequences.
