BOSTON (AP) _ In the headline for a July 20 story about a patient with a degenerative brain illness, The Associated Press reported erroneously that the patient was being tested for mad cow disease. The patient was tested for Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease, which has a variant attributed to mad cow disease, as explained in the story.
