The second wave of introductions of roses from China occurred many years later. These were the tea roses, the first aristocrats of the rose world. Intolerant of frost and plagued with weak necks below the bellows, they still had outstanding properties – shapely buds, refined flowers, delicate fragrance and a repeat flower habit.
