I have been predicting a Digg / Google acquisition for a long time now. Do you mind if I say I told you so? What I reall want to know is if Google plans to roll Digg like voting into Google search as they have already been seen testing social features in Google results.

That would be interesting to see. I know a lot of people who used to be avid google fans now thinking it has "jumped the shark". Same with digg. It will just be interesting to see how this pans out. I have heard lots of other stories over the years about people potentially buying Digg. Not sure if it all real or just hype.

There are a number of reasons that Google wants Digg:
The Digg algorithm patents.
The server resources and data centers that support the massive traffic Digg has.
Millions of unique visitors, ComScore rated Digg at 6 million plus unique users Dec. 2007.
Google also wants to take the Microsoft advertising deal away.
Larry Page frineded Kevin Rose on Digg and Kevin did not frined him back so he is pissed. LOL
