The right-wing Supreme Court and the feeble Democratic Congress has failed to exercise their power to constrain an authoritarian Republican Executive. The right-wing has fundamentally changed this nation to an authoritarian state because the American people are too ideological and stupid. Face it, the argument that the Republicans use to grab power and act unconstitutionally were and are accepted by most Americans. That so many Americans supported the Bush administration "to make us safe" scared the political left in this country to the point that it is now part of the Republican party.

the authoritarianism that we are experiencing is the result of the audacity of the people to stand up to the powers that be in the 1960s and 1970s. Right-wing governance is the price we pay for acting as citizens.

Ben Franklin's words are so true: "He who would give up a little liberty to gain a little security will lose both and deserve neither."
