This is truly a dangerous stunt; but it is an attention getter.
On the medical side, believe that he has to wear a neck brace. One's head can snap down pretty sharply when one is nodding off; and the risk of nerve damage, though not high, is there.

I don't know if he can do it! This is an EPIC undertaking, one that I don't believe can be taken lightly! Is he going to access the internets while on The Google (damned series of tubes!) while staying up???
Obama has released a statement in response to McCain's goal that he will be holding a press conference in the Czech Republic regarding the missile shield at the same time McCain is staying up!
