If someone says the words weight loss , to you, what is the first thought that comes to mind? Is it the word diet? Many people think that if you want to lose weight, you need to temporarily eat a restricted diet until you lose the pounds and are able to go back to eating the foods you enjoy. Understanding why weight is gained in the first place will give an understanding of how to effectively lose weight and keep it off. Usually it is not because people suddenly start eating more, or start eating higher calorie foods but it is due to changes that are taking place in the body as we age.
