What was Osama thinking ? What was so important in Paris that he couldn't stop by and see our wounded veterans?
This clearly shows America what he truly thinks of our military and their sacrifices.....
Who would vote for such a callous, uncaring individual ?
Oh, wait....I know....The dumba$$ liberals would because they ALSO don't give a crap about our military and what's best for our country....

Goppy, good to see you.
I thought about abandoning this website after Tuesday, but then I would miss reading your great commentaries ...and I would miss being a thorn in the sides of AG, FSU, libsR, and all the other n*tj*bs here...and unlike FSU, who says he "was sent here to earth by God to make liberal lives miserable," I could really care less...I HAVE A LIFE! But I do like to f**k with the conservatives!
I think I will hang out on propeller for a while longer!

"Gosh ... maybe he's one of the few Righties who realizes there is no Republican party anymore ... as they have been absorbed by the Neo-Conservative movement ... a movement modeled after the old Soviet Union military expansionist credo."
I can't believe I agree with Goppy on something, it it sad but true.

It's is nice to see that both you Scott and Goppy decided to stay it will make my decision to stay easier and make propeller much more palatable, for a second there I thought it would be the AG show. I still cant seem to find any of my comments and when i do find the stories i posted on they seem not to be there i am hoping this is all a glitch and will be fixed soon....James.
I wonder if FSU knows that the pentagon told Obama he couldn't visit? I am betting this story will go away soon because is stands on shaky ground at best!

The Pentagon told Obama NOT to visit the troops because it would be seen as a purely POLITICAL visit...He planned to go by himself, plus a retired Air Force General...and now the BushBeeotches and Boyotches wanna crucify him for it!!!

Hey Mesodufus ?
Next time you want to call people a liar, better check your links.....
Using liberal, Osama supporting links, to call one of us out is like me using the National Enquirer to prove to you that John Edwards met with his mistress and lovechild...
Whoops...
Wait a minute.....That didn't come out the way I intended...
let me try that again...You using liberal, Osama supporting links....

If you'd opened the link instead of being a ******** con with a birdbrain, you'd have seen that several unbiased sources are used to debunk this horsecrap story. That is exactly the reason cons have a reputation for being pathological liars. Thanks for living up to your potential. ;-P

Why such a long personal attack against FSU? You can disagree without being disagreeable. The leftists have a lot more in common with the communists than the right wing ideologues. FSU has a right to whine about all things Democratic just as you have a right to whine about Republicans.
Back to the post, normally, the troops are not visited when it's part of a political campaign and Obama is only following McCains lead in this instance, at least as I understand it.

Wow...Cons have NO clue why they have no business whatsoever lecturing others on etiquette or diplomacy. That post took my breath away. And not in a good way. It wasn't like when you're on a rollercoaster and you have those zero gravity moments in certain turns and twists where your heart feels like it stopped beating but you know it didn't because if it had, you'd be dead and not looking at the guy in front of you with the puke splattered shirt. It wasn't like that. Nor was it like when you're doing the horizontal mambo and there's that point where you're on the brink of reaching shangri-la and you're all..."God? Is that you?! It's not my time to go yet! I can't feel my legs...Whooa!" It wasn't like either of those at all. ;-(

Why couldn't he just quietly go there with no fuss or coverage by the press. Bush did that several times. Nobody but the Secret Service knew where he was going. I Guess Obama has to do something like this with a big slpash.-

"Why couldn't he just quietly go there with no fuss or coverage by the press."
--Uh...Because he's Barack Obama, maybe? Why do you think he should apologize for being popular? What makes you think he controls what the press does and why would you want anyone to do that in the first place?
"Bush did that several times. Nobody but the Secret Service knew where he was going. I Guess Obama has to do something like this with a big slpash."
--I know you wish Bush had class, grace, scruples, morals, ethics and intelligence but he has none of these. Since you worship him I guess it's easy to forget he has a 20% approval rating--IN HIS OWN COUNTRY. No one wants to see his face or hear his voice here or abroad. Are you doing crystal meth? Seriously... ;-(

If you go back and read the original story you'll find that this side trip was NOT on his publicized agenda. He hat attempted to do this quietly and without fanfare. When the Army said NO at the last minute OBama said Drop it. Don't fight it. We don't want a big scene over these injured troops. Then the cons got hold of it and voilla SPIN.

--FSU, you're beginning to sound more and more unstable and it's gettin kinda scary. Seriously. Your opinions simply aren't reality based. You've already forgotten that a mere two years ago you cons were all running around making excuses for teen boy stalking Republican sluut Mark Foley. Even so, you were still all haughty and boasting how sure you were that Republicans would pick up more seats, America would never elect a "SF liberal" to be third in line for the Presidency, blah blah blah... Remind me which party is in control of Congress? What are the names of the current Speaker of the House and Senate MAJORITY leader, FSU? C'mon...You can do it. G'boy! Think about it. What you're predicting is totally unrealistic. Pure fantasy. You *do* realize this on some level, I hope. ;-(

And yet you cons are deadly silent whenever Bush trots out wounded troops and pimps them in front of the camera every opportunity he can use to sell his illegal war (which cons are enjoying from the sidelines, FSU--this means YOU and all your friends, etc).

"McCain is demonstrably criticizing Obama for following a Pentagon rule to which the McCain campaign itself has been subjected recently. That's a fact. So this seems to be a simple cheap shot at Obama, in the hopes that the media won't be internet savvy enough (i.e., able to use Google) to figure out the whole story."

But you were saying similar things and worse about McCain not too long ago. Then you claimed you recently found out McCain was wonderful and a hero and now have all these warm and glowing warming glow-like feelings for him. You change your mind so often I'm shocked someone as flighty as you are can still trust your judgement. Doesn't make any sense whatsoever, when you think about it. ;-(

pc,
I just don't get these libs and how they can vote for such a fake....
They hate Bush so much that they're willing to vote for an inexperienced, Marxist who could care less about our country and our well-being, but more interested in power and how he can manipulate the world...
I know AG used the word "antichrist" to describe Osama, but look at the description or how the antichrist is described in the Bible....Osama could literally be the poster-child for him.....
Scary stuff...

"I just don't get these libs and how they can vote for such a fake...."
But aren't cons voting for a Republican they've hated for the last 10 years, someone they don't trust and don't really believe is a Republican or a conservative and who brought the concept of flipflopping to a whole new level? I think that's what cons are doing and also quite disgracefully re-elected Bush who lied, destroyed our economy and our reputation worldwide, caused several thousand Americans and a million or more Iraqis to DIE needlessly. What did Bush and the GOP accomplish in 8 years? They accomplished nothing, right? Cons got NOTHING in return for their undying loyalty to Bush and the GOP. You have egg splattered all over your sad faces and now you're desperately trying to ease the pain associated with your ignorance, lack of education and extremely poor political judgement. This is not something cons can hide. We know what you people are all about and it's mostly very ugly and sad. ;-(

"I don't despise McCain...
Just you and Osama...."
--Why are you so dishonest? I'm adorable and you know this. And I love that the "I don't despise McCain" is so obviously the nicest thing you can say about him and the reason you hate him is because he is ideologically similar to Obama in so many ways--well, he was a year ago, anyway? Who knows what McCain will believe when he wakes up tomorrow morning? ;-)

LOL...have you seen the polls lately, US?
I am not sure what you are basing your hypothesis on, but he's got a very slim margin in most polls I've seen....So, in essence the media, his trip to Europe, hasn't really helped him much...
I wonder why?

What does that say to our young men and women in uniform, who are, btw, voters?>>>>
Why don't you ask the troops who gave him a standing ovation in Iraq? As for why Obama decided not to go, you might want to look up his reasons, & stop listening to those who try to brainwash you. Or are you one of them? Is that your role here? It certainly doesn't appear to be about the country, it's problems or what got us in this mess.
Reply
I think I'll give our men & women in uniform credit for having the intelligence of figuring out whether or not Obama cares about them on their own. I'm certainly not going to speak for them, though you somehow think you have that mandate. Not too respectful, are you. -

The Democrats in congress are stonewalling causing the military overseas the ability to vote. Remember that Gore in 2000 had the absentee ballots rejected that didn't meet the law. Those overseas didn't have the ability to get the proper forms or other required papers. So Gore had them thrown out and since then the Democrats are keeping it that way even though there were orders to fix the problem.

US
Did you read the article?
"...a decision his spokesman said was made because the Democratic presidential candidate thought it would be inappropriate on a campaign-funded journey."
It sounds to me that HE mad the decision, not the Pentagon...
Good try, though...
And even if you're story is true, couldn't he have said, "You know what? It's more important to me to see these guys and gals and show them we care and to thank them for their sacrifice to this country..."
That would have went over way better than simply ignoring them because he had to get to Paris....
and besides, would have made a great photo op for the faker....Don't you think, US ?

Per the US Bureau of the Census (under Pres. GW Bush) the military of the USA is almost exactly politically the same as the general population of the US. Aprox. 48% Republican & 48% Democrat with the other 4% being either Independent or Non-Affiliated. Any one who posts that Liberals are anti-military - anyone who says that is being an ignorant jerk who is allowing his bias to blind him to fact.
The reason you see the military always seem jubilant whenever Pres. Bush visits is - because they are ordered to do this. While I was in the military (I am retired Army & was Republican at the time) the reaction from soldiers was always the same - whether the visiting President was Repub. or Democ. The same happens when a Senator, House Representative, or Governor visited troops. No decent is allowed or tolerated. Any soldier who booed the visitor vs. cheered for him was punished.
The Commander-in-Chief, no matter whether he be Repub. or Democ., is still the military's Constitutionally mandated Cammander-in-Chief -&- all military personnel take a solemn oath to uphold the Constitution.
I am no longer Republican, nor am I Democrat. I now belong to The Veterans of the USA party.

A campaign adviser said the U.S. military saw the visit as a campaign stop.
"We learned from the Pentagon last night that the visit would be viewed instead as a campaign event," the adviser, retired Air Force Maj. Gen. Scott Gration, said in a statement. "Senator Obama did not want to have a trip to see our wounded warriors perveived as a campaign event when his visit was to show his appreciation for our troops and decided instead not to go."

They said it would be innappropriate for him to go WITH his press entourage. These soldiers are injured, they should not be subjected to cameras just because Obama wants a photo op. The fact that he felt visiting them without the press would be a waste of time speaks volumes about him.

excellent point
yep. pure logic being employed on here
blah blah blah liberal democrat blah blah blah...
all the while forgetting that many of the intended recipients of Obama's visit were injured IN THE FIRST PLACE by oh-so compassionate non-publicity seeking GOP stalwarts supported by voters of like mind as concerns the mess known as Iraq
which all except the most foolish and deluded recognize as an unnecessary war
so what's worse?
not paying you a visit?
or sending you to get blown up that would require a visit in the first place?
I'll take having all my limbs. Then I wouldn't need the visit

Who would vote for John McInsane except someone foolish enough to comment on things they are not informed about. Obama did not visit the wounded soldiers because it is a practice not approved by the Pentagon. Get your facts straight and stop believing every lie that comes down the pike disparaging Obama!
