Comments for Bob Barr calls for George W. Bush Impeachment Inquiry »

Posted By Stringcheese 1 year, 5 months ago in News

After submitting a blacked out Bill of Rights into the Congressional Record, Bob Barr said, "If in fact the decision in front of this Committee and in front of the American People is Constitutional Inquiry or Constitutional Silence, then by god, I choose Constitutional Inquiry." It's great to see Bob calling for impeachment again!

Not only does Bob protect our personal freedoms, the bill of rights, and the constitution, but he can even get a laugh out of the members of the judicial committee while doing it! (Check out the chairman and the guy over his left shoulder)

Not only does Bob protect our personal freedoms, the bill of rights, and the constitution, >>>>

He supported all legislation banning abortion as well as most legislation limiting birth control access.
He opposed all drug decriminalization laws, as well as medical marijuana.
      He opposed campaign finance reform.
He personally wrote and sponsored a bill banning Wiccan ceremonies on military bases (so much for separation of church and state)
He co-sponsored a bill to strip children born here to undocumented immigrants of their citizenship. (So much for the 14th amendment).
      He voted against gay rights.
He delivered keynote address @ Council of Conservative Citizens (1998). They are white nationalists.
He's a card carrying member of the religious right.

While I don't like Barr's politics in the past, on this he is right.

I'm glad that Barr is doing something good. Doesn't mean I agree with everything he's ever done, but I will salute him for being right and being outspoken about it on this occasion.

what a waste of time. How about spending time on immigration, drilling in Alaska and off-shore, getting rid of pork barrels etc

I fail to see how the erosion of our Civil Liberties is a waste of time. I don't think a lot of people realize just how bad it's become because it hasn't affected them personally . . . yet.

Barr was also very prominent in that partisan manipulation of the Constitution known as the Clinton impeachment. Did you also object to that "waste of time?"

How odd to say that protecting the Constitution is a 'waste of time.' Very odd.

maybe Barr would make a great VP for Obama?

haha, that would be funny - they have such opposite stances everything, they would never agree.

A wise person pointed out that while one of the two old school candidates was globe trotting and the other was preaching to the choir, Bob Barr was serving the American people, even though, unlike the other two, he isn’t being paid to do so.

I can assume that all of you fawning over Bob Barr had the same things to say about Dennis Kuccinich, who has been calling for impeachment since 2007?

You all do know that Kuccinich introduced articles of impeachment, right?

Normally I support Libertarian candidates, but I just can't seem to muster up much trust for Mr. Barr (although he's perfectly correct in his call for an inquiry into Mr. Bush's impeachment.)
