Powercolor to be first with passive HD 4850 »

Powercolor is going to be the first partner that will make a passively cooled HD 4850 card.

The details about the upcoming passively cooled HD 4850 card are still unknown, but we do know that the heatsink will have 54 aluminum fins which are connected to the copper base plate via four extra long 6mm heatpipes. Unfortunately, the clocks for this card aren't yet confirmed but we doubt that passive cooling solution is going to give any serious overclocking results.

The good thing is that the SCS cooling can cope with HD 4850, and the only drawback is that this will probably end up to be a dual-slot card if not even a triple-slot like the HD 3780 SCS version, We'll just need to wait for the first pictures to appear just to be sure.
