The number of Americans who died at home after ingesting toxic combinations of prescription medications, alcohol and street drugs such as marijuana exploded by more than 3,000 percent during the past two decades, new research shows.

    I actually used the university account to check this story out.

    It seems that msnbc mentions the marijuana, but the cited study seems to be aiming at heroin, cocaine, and illicitly obtained pharmaceuticals as "street drugs", and specifically mentions "alcohol and/or street drugs".

    The fact is, according to even DEA administrative judge Francis Young, marijuana is one of the safest medications known to man.

      Thank you! I noticed that they were mentioning marijuana in the same breathe as herion and crack and I stood with my mouth agape!

      As far as I know and most reports go, people don't overdose by mixing marijuana with anything, if anything it is often alcohol and pills that make up these numbers.
