Obama: 12 million illegals will get health insurance, you'll get the bill! »
Posted By Stringcheese 1 year, 4 months ago in NewsBob Barr: “It’s not fair to expect U.S. taxpayers to pay for health insurance for the citizens of another nation. America’s bloated welfare state is expensive enough, and even after recent reforms it still creates a disincentive to work. Handing out insurance to people who have come to America illegally will encourage even greater illegal immigration,” Barr explains. “And that, in turn, will push up government health care expenditures, creating a vicious cycle of more and more spending and more and more illegal immigration.”

Some one is making money by giving free services to Aliens and it's not We the people. Those in our Congress that encourage immigration at this time while our country is going through an economy crisis are getting rich under the table.

I have been paying the bill in many other ways for the last decade. I live in Arizona. When you go to the superpmarket, the line ahead of you is filled with illegals, shopping carts overflowing and paying with it all with food stamps.
Meanwhile I pay the highest state taxes in the nation and live in a state teetering on the brink of bankruptcy every month that can barely provide the services the taxpayers support.

Barr is a bit off base here.
1) In Obama's health care plan, Obama specifically and repeatedly refers to AMERICANS.
2) Obama is a strong supporter of Immigration reform, specifically stating policies quite similar to the ones promoted by Barr in this piece.

Before you claim that Barr is mistaken, go look at the US Census stats for yourself

2006 Census report on Income, Poverty and Health Insurance Coverage
The largest population group to go without health insurance is young adults ages 18-34, making up about 2/5 of all those uninsured. This group tends to be in good health, and generally does not stay uninsured for more than a couple of years at most. This is most likely due to factors other than ability to buy insurance - this group tends to be healthy so they don’t feel they need to spend the money on insurance (This group has been called the "Young Invinclbles")
A little over 10 million of those uninsured are not citizens. They are categorized as noncitizen immigrants. The Census Bureau admitted that many are illegal immigrants
38% of the uninsured in households with income above $50,000 annually - about 18 million people
14 million people without health insurance are eligible for government health care programs like Medicaid and S-CHIP but choose not to enroll -

I'll tell you what we should be pissed about: The lazy low-lives who live legally in the U.S. and refuse to do the field labor we need to get those strawberries/tomatoes/grapes over to the grocery store for us to continue to be the fattest nation on earth. Oh, and let's totally be pissed at the millions of citizens who refuse to work in the meat/poultry processing plants and lay the groundwork for Mr. Pilgrim to remain quiet about all these immigration issues. When we send these hard-working illegals back, let's let them take a couple of lazy home-made low-lives back with them!

That really sucks. And while it's all true, sadly the suburban families are the very ones that gladly support the illegals by hiring them to do the yard work and other jobs. (not all, but many)

But no, at the end of the day, that's still no excuse, and there is still something inheritantly wrong about paying the health insurance bill for the illegals who don't pay any taxes...
