Chimps and gorillas will eat certain leaves to help remove worms and such, the article makes mention. Elephants travel the darkness of a cave in Africa in search of certain minerals. BIrds use ants and the acid the ant's spray to clean their feathers of parasites. Wood Ants use pine sap to fight bacterial infection.

Now that we're paying attention, we're finding that our (human) intelligence is not so far above other members of the animal kingdom. Hope our arrogance will soon be torn down and we can learn to treat other denizens of this planet with the respect they merit.
Remember a few years back when all those experiments were being conducted on plants? We discovered some amazing things about their "intelligence". Whatever happened to that?

As you can see from this article, orangutans are truly special beings. Unfortunately, they are being pushed to the brink of extinction in the wild as palm oil plantations replace their forest habitat in Borneo and Sumatra. Orangutans need our protection.
