No Liberalism is definitely a mental disorder as witnessed by ecoterrorism, the 60s radicals like Obama's buddies from the Weathermen, and the guy who set off the bomb in TImes Sqauare in front of a recruiting station. Nice propaganda piec not so jovial.

That's why you have a picture of a storm trooper aiming an assault rifle at an unarmed man for your avatar? Maybe the problem is your imagery doesn't match your thought process?
Liberals by definition are not Nazis. Extremists on both sides give me a pain but when you express an interest in executing a murderer (on another thread) yourself and showing your tendencies for violence (even if it is only day dreaming) you let all of us know what you are really like. It's not a pretty picture.

While violence occurrs for every possible reason, it is a legitimate question whether there is a hate-industry in America that specificly targets 'liberals'.
Ann Coulter, Rush Limbaugh, Michelle Malkin, Bill O'reilly, Savage, Ollie North and lesser-known figures, - all constantly flirt with the idea of 'talk to a liberal with your baseball bat'.
They label liberals as godless enemies of the US, moraly depraved baby murders equal with terrorists; they 'joke' about the net benefits of getting rid of Ossama and Obama.
You can point out similiar comments from the left; but it has no faintest equivalence in volume or cultural effect.
Real conservatives (which are most conservatives) don't advocate violence against liberals; -
but they don't speak out very loudly against the leaders of hate, either.

I would blame this on religion. It's only religion that breeds these kind of cowards. You never see an athiest going into a church and shooting it up. You never see an athiest bombing a medical clinic. It's only religious people. This is why religion needs to be banned. It breeds criminals.

And what mental disorder, praytell, did the Unabomber suffer from when he put into action Al Gore's book (Earth In The Balance, found by the FBI in his cabin and deliberately omitted from the evidence catalog out of political expediency)?
You DO realize the compatibility b/t the Unabomber Manifesto and Al Gore's treatise, do you not?

Oh now ... this is just too, too funny.
So you are equating America's 135 Million Democrats with FASCISM, NAZISM & COMMUNISM?
LOL!!!
You do realize, don't you, that there ARE intelligent people that read these posts. This isn't the Rush Limbaugh or OmegaGnosis show - where you just post anything ... thinking that your audience will simply agree with you rewriting history.
Not only do you reveal a completely bizarre mind association by comparing Fascist, NAZI's and Communists to Americans who consider themelves Democrats, you are not even remotely logical in your own argument!!
LOL!!
Even high schoolers understand that Fascism is a Right Wing Corporatist Totalitarian system.
And NAZIism is simply a brand of Fascism. Why do you think Hitler and Mussolini got on so well? LOL!!!
And Hitler so despised Communism ... he INVADED the Soviet Union!!
And Stalin was just insane.
You crack me up Endo.
ALTHOUGH ... you DO seem to exhibit a VERY STRONG anger towards American Liberals ... ... ... ... I guess I should be happy I've never given you my address!

Bla bla bla. Fascism has similarities to both parties. It does not represent left or right and most people do not even know what fascism is. All of these definitions of what is what and people feeling they have to justify why choose a label (such as conservative or liberal is stupid. Liberal and conservative are just words that can change based on perspective. I consider my self ultra conservative on the national spectrum because I am for smaller government and less taxes, but I also understand that people at my church think of me as being liberal when I say I am ok with legalizing pot. I consider legalizing pot the conservative thing to do, based on true old school conservatism and not legislating morality.
The point of all of this babbling...
..quit defending labels and parties. Argue your points and ideas well enough and they should stand on their own.

Your facts are off a bit, they never trusted each other. The non aggression pact that the Soviets and Nazi Germany signed was just a delaying tactic, mainly for the benefit of Nazi Germany. The animosity between the Communist and Nazi's went back for years. For example when the Nazi's came to power, the first thing they did was arrest all the members of the Communist party in Germany.

So, genius, according to YOUR new revisionist political spectrum, what is the furthest right and who has ever attempted its enforcement??
I'll teach you (although you refuse to accept facts) what I learned in every
civics course as well as during 4 years of Political science in college.
Now, unless you can prove that ALL Poli. Sci. 101 books in the free world are wrong, here's how it goes.
FROM FURTHEST left to FURTHEST right:
Communist...Socialist..>Liberal..Moderate (smack dab in the middle)
Conservative...fascist...reactionary (which is what Hitler was) and extreme
fascist dictator...Now, go find ONE political science book that tells you that
Hitler was a socialist... He can call himself whatever he wants including a woman, but the "socialist" in National socialist party had nothing to do with what the real world sees as socialism.. was Hitler bringing a medical plan and public transportation and other "social issues" to Germany??
Ahhhh...no!
Good luck finding it in a text book..

Care to opine on the Paducah, KY shooters who targeted Christians? How about the son-of-HCI-card-carrying-members who shot up Colombine AND targeted Christians?
Interesting how the hate-mongers manage to fit so nicely into their equestrian blinders.
I have no use for Unity/Universalist doctrine masquerading as Christianity, but under no circumstances would I wish any of them harm for their beliefs. Part of the whole point of America is to hold our differences openly and respectfully.

Close, but not quite. It's not sad that people have the freedom to say hateful things, their freedom insures my freedom and yours. What is sad is that so many people buy into what these folks are spewing so hard it becomes their world image, no matter what the evidence to the contrary may say.

Having your freedom of speech is one thing, but there ought to be a proper forum for it. This crap form these idiots are balsted alll over the radio networks during all times of the day so that it achieves maximum audience. The radio stations allow it, because these guys can get people riled up and listen to their spiels. That means revenue. If freedom of speech was so important to maintain I'm sure a sex live station would be freedom of expression also, but common sense has to come into play here somewhere.

I think Hannity, Rush, O'Reilly, etc are the Professional Wrestlers of the media world, glitz, glam and giving the audience what they want. More of an effort needs to be made that they represent a largely fake world but in my opinion censoring them would only martyr them and give them more power and in the end larger audiences. Right now, their audiences, while large in their markets, are small compared to the population as a whole.

You and you lefties are totally wrong. They say what they believe and there are a lot of people like me who believe the same things. That is why they are so popular and why the Left talks show hosts are so rare. Too many radio listeners don't like the garbage that the left spews. That is what it seems like to the right.
Reply
Why do you try to blame the right for all the violence in the world? Most of the horrors have been committed by the left. Communists, Nazis, Fascists, etc. Your pal in North Korea treats his people really well doesn't he. He is communist. He starves his people because his method of economics is horrible.
Think about the horrors on the left before blaming the right. Get that board out of your eye before you try to remove the splinter from someone else.

I'd not mind a sex live station.
That may even be fun.
However, I believe that a news outlet should have to tell the truth. I admit, those listed are opinion and I believe that opinion should have to state it is opinion before the program begins, at the halfway point of the opinion and at the end of it. The same goes for "fake news" like the Colbert Report and The Daily Show.
If a news network is caught blatantly misrepresenting the truth then they should be liable after multiple offenses from a financial viewpoint. I don't really believe our Constitutional rights should apply to businesses. They are for people.

Businesses are made up of individuals that are each entitled to their Constitutional rights. The ACLU rightly protected the rights of Rush Limbaugh when the government sought his medical records, in doing so they protected MY rights alongside Rush's.

To say that a business like talk radio isn't entitled to freedom of speech is to say that neither is any artist who sells their work.
I prefer these guys out in the light of day where their comments can be openly discussed and scrutinized, forcing them into the dark will only empower them.-

I suggested that all business should make a clear distinction between news and opinion and that they are obligated to announce when they change from one to the other (as well as re-inform occasionally what exactly it is you are watching). When they fail this, I believe they should be financially liable. Notice, I did not say Rush, Franken or Hannity should be financially liable. In Franken's case, MSNBC would be. In Hannity's, it would be Fox. In the case of Rush, whatever group he has a contract with.
So, I agree. You can't simply stop people from saying what they wish and I believe I will be the first person to defend Rush if someone actually says he cannot say something. My plan would not remove this ability from him. It would require that all that claims to be news, say up front it is news, all that claims to be entertainment should make it clear it is entertainment.

Also, (edit would be useful) when that which claims to be news is found to be making false claims on a repeat basis, it would be liable for a monetary punishment. A free press is not owned by corporations or the government.
Opinion making false claims would not be liable for anything it says. Only that which claims to be news would be and that would be more on the grounds of false advertising (you aren't the news if you are giving blatant falsehoods).

A lot of adults wouldn't mind a sex station, that's not the point. The point is the audience that it reaches needs to be restricted. I agree with you that opinion should be distinguished from actual news. People would need to see the station for what it is a sex station. We don't want husbands and wives trying to do things that they heard on the radio. ie. (multiple sex partners, ********, or **********) .

I can agree with the need to distinguish that something is a sex station. I'd not find that to be a violation of the First Amendment at all, particularly if we had lots of situations popping up where opinion and news were difficult to distinguish.

I really don't think my fellow Christian Conservatives realize that Right Wing Hate Radio and FOX is grooming them to be 'Hate-Bots'.
For instance, member Nixie has been private messaging me, complaining that I promote hate.
Well, this stunned me on several levels. First of all, I try to be nice to everyone --- for which I am the target of vilification from my fellow Righties.
But what I found MOST astonishing is, that while Nixie is interpreting my honest appraisal of George W. Bush's policies as being hateful ... Nixie CONSISTENTLY gives POSITIVE votes to all the most vile, insult laden comments by the whole milieu of angry righties ... such as icono, libsRfunny, Endoscopy, MichaelRodente, aniokly, and of course, the specialist in 'hate posts' ... FSU92grad ... who makes up for his being so un-informed by honing an overtly hostile, insult laden, extremely bitter delivery.
See, I learned from Nixie that, Right Wing Media has GROOMED and CONDITIONED these sad individuals that there is only ONE truth ... and if you don't agree with that truth ... then you are fair game ... and for many, like the Church Shooter ... it's an easy step over the line to violence.
BTW ... I should tell you that Nixie's last Private Message to me said how she thought I was DISHONEST!!!
Like one of my fellow Christian Conservatives would care about THAT! I mean, Christian Conservatives LOVE GeeDub ... and his lying led us to the most ill-conceived war in our history.
But what I found so interesting about Nixie claiming I was 'Dishonest' ... she REGULARLY supports member OmegaGnosis in all of her Partisan, Divisive stories ...
.... even the one in which Omega fabricated that hate story about Michelle Obama being a racist.
See?
I fear my fellow righties are almost TOO FAR GONE to even have a grip on reality.

Klarissa,
The most telling aspect of this thread is the clear, outspoken inabilityt of the liberal mindset to assess this man by his actions as opposed to the contents of his living quarters. And they can't even get their bloviating consistent.
The man claimed to be angry at liberals, yet when a neighbor told him her daughter graduated from bible school, his disposition changed for the worse.
How about we judge public and college education by the massacres carried out on school campuses? Oh wait...they toe the evolution line. They and their academic content are exempt from scrutiny.
How about we judge the US Postal Service by the many workplace shootings they have? We could also look at their employee demographics to see if that offers a clue? Nope...that would portray minorities negatively.
But here's a lone shooter with two conservative books in his house. (O'Reilly is not a conservative, but there's no convincing the mind-numbed liberal of that fact.) Aha! He acted ONLY because of two books by conservative authors! BLAME the authors!
The childish absence of a parallel thought process or two is astonishing, and these brainiacs not only refuse to see it, they revel in it. Much less their willingness to toss rule of law out the door in favor of adjudication by ideology.
Hopefully reason will prevail and the idiocy is limited to fora such as this.

It's lunatic to posit partisanship of any brand as the fulcrum or rationale of the guy's actions.
But from the psychological POV, the hatred of liberals and gays DOES point to an authoritarian mindset, which is characterized by, among other things, a penchant for moralizing, for dichotomous thinking (right/wrong, good/bad, strong/weak, etc.), and the love of order and control.
Draw your own conclusions about which kinds of people share this worldview--which is NOT to say that said people are by definition given to criminality.

I posted this on the last story about this gunman, and I feel it needs restating here:
The politics of hate. How can anyone grow to hate liberals so much? Constant messages about liberals being evil and morally vacant and doing the devil's work.
Yet what do I see on this thread?
A bunch of liberals saying that all conservatives are evil, morally vacant, and doing the devil's work, and vice-versa.
What makes a man go crazy and do something so terrible? He's been brainwashed by the repeated mantra: the other side is evil, the other side is evil, the other side is evil...
Sure, Karl Rove may have played a part in the politics of hate being so widely accepted, but anyone who lumps all 'conservatives' or 'liberals' into one huge category of badness is just as responsible because they ACCEPTED the politics of hate, and they SPREAD it.
Some people (conservatives and liberals) are far more open to the power of suggestion. This guy probably heard from his friends and coworkers day after day "liberals are ruining the country"... and so, he decided to do the only rational thing he could to try to save the country: kill as many liberals as he can.
toph, I don't mean to pick on you, but you provided a couple of excellent examples on the other thread:
"65 million people that voted for Bush the second time are all insane."
and
"And who is to blame for the ruination of the country? The Conservatives."Based on that message, the solution is simple: either lock up those 65 million in an insane asylum or kill them, and you'll save your country!
And here we have from DKAL:
"No Liberalism is definitely a mental disorder as witnessed by ecoterrorism, the 60s radicals like Obama's buddies from the Weathermen, and the guy who set off the bomb in Times Square in front of a recruiting station."Again, lock up all the Libs in a mental asylum (or kill them) and there will be no more problems).
Having dissenting opinions is healthy and leads to better decision-making. Demonizing the other side is NOT, because it leads to dismissing their opinions altogether, even when they may be valid.

No but if liberalism is a mental disorder... then what do you do with all those mentally deranged people running around?
And I also understand that your comment was in reply to another user saying that neo-conservatism was a mental disorder and thus was somewhat understandable.
My issue here is that so much of the thread is alternate-bashing. Libs bash Cons, Cons bash Libs, and nobody stops to recognize their own party's faults, and noone stops to recognize that outside of party affiliations, everyone is human and is essentially striving towards a similar goal.
This is Rove's tactic: keep the sides bickering against each other, and they'll turn a blind eye to anything wrong done by their own party. So both party's get away with all kinds of crap that they never would if EVERYONE was looking at BOTH SIDES objectively.

People here don't hate conservatives, they just have contempt for those who pretend to be conservatives and who were duped into still believing that George Bush is a conservative..

They are the snakes who were lead by their Saint Patrick neocons right into our living rooms.. They are fools. They are dangerous because they don't know how dangerous they are. They continue to support those who feed them all that is truly against the working American family and they believe it and fight for it...
Walmart good?
Oil companies (all time record profit ($11.5billion)t for American companies ALL TIME the second quarter this yeas GOOD??
Outsourcing..GOOD?
Our tax dollars used to rebuild Iraq and let Halliburton profit from it GOOD???
Pharmaceutical fraud and deception Good???
of course..these people are idiots..THAT is why they are disliked!
Oh yeah, and anyone who questions them is a flip-flopping "liberal."..-

Mr Coffee:
How does your ignorance of the issues translate into unbearable conservatives?
Support for Bush as a conservative and support for any of his policies are distinctly unique issues. Try to grasp that.
Wa-Mart may be good, evil or indifferent. We have prosecutors who keep them legal. Ditto any organization.
Oil profits? This isn't even a discussion until you drag yourself kicking and screaming to learn the difference b/t gross profits and profit margins. Gross profits are up, profit margins have remained the same. This is meaningless to someone unfamiliar with the math that underlies the terms.
Outsourcing may be good, evil or indifferent. A company's objective is to return value to its owners, most of whom are public or industrial union members who own through their pension plans and funnel money to the Democratic party. Millions of other Democrats are corporate owners through their 401(k) and other deferred comp plans or are direct stockholders. So if outsourcing is evil, who's to blame?
See the problem? You've reached the stage of indictment without the first understanding of the facts needed to make your case. And pointing this out makes conservatives evil ???
But I digress. Wilotica, good post and well stated. We best stay the course with mutual respect (read: good ol' Propeller mudslinging!).
