Yet people still don't seem to get the point, working the resort industry I see it every day, arrogant fat Americans leaving their obnoxious cars trucks and SUV's running for 30 + minutes so that their fat families can sit in a/c comfort, even in very pleasant weather, it's maddening! It's no wonder oil companies are getting so rich and why the rest of the world hates us!

Fish, I've lived all over the world. It's not an American thing. I lived in Brazil, and it's HOT there. Anyone who could idle with A/C on, did.

You see it more here because more people are economically viable. It's a positive. Do you really want America to be a poor nation? I'd recommend you visit one first.

But, we should politely encourage people to stop that behavior. Realistically, market forces will correct it eventually.

You are absolutely correct; Brazilians who can afford to visit this country are some of the worst offenders of the "it's all about me" mentality! My point is that the residents of this country need to take more responsibility when it comes to conservation in any sense! We are a top world leader; let’s act like it.

Conservation of energy could easily save 30%, a good part of which could be save immediately.

Increased drilling would meet only a few percent at most, and only after a decade of development.
