It was 1980 and I was ten years old, when I played Dungeons and Dragons for the very first time. Twenty-eight years later I am still playing the game (and noting many similarities between 4th edition and the Basic Game, but that is a subject for another post). I somehow managed to grow-up in that time as well, and my interests have expanded into a number of geeky areas: astronomy, archeology, medicine.

I became a geek because nothing in the world when I was ten was as exciting as what I could do in the game. I have stayed a geek because I honestly believe that the world can be made to be that exciting, and we are just the group to pull it off.
