They're deleting "reviews" by people who haven't read the book and who are using the review page as a forum to voice their dogmatic approach to "reading" -- read what someone else says about it, despite their lies, and decide without reading it yourself.
Reply
It's common practice on Amazon (and has always been) to delete comments that are abusive, outright attacks based on lies or for reviews given by people that have plainly not read the book.
More fearmongering by the GOP. Based on lies as always. -

It's a shame when companies sink to promoting their own politics in this way. They've got the right to do it, but it does undermine the idea of customers helping customers through reviews and product ratings. Then again, the book's still only got a 2 star rating, so I doubt it's going to shoot up the charts anytime soon.

Also, I hate to not give Amazon the benefit of a doubt. It seems possible to me that Amazon may have had legitimate reasons for deleting the said reviews. For instance, maybe the reviews seemed to be from people who hadn't actually read the book and were just bashing Pelosi/Democrats in general. You never know. There certainly are still plenty of negative reviews to read.-

Speaking as a former Amazon employee, I can tell you that the company has always reserved the right to remove "reviews" that are essentially political rants. This has taken place from the very beginning, and the policy has been applied to both sides of the political aisle. As for "censorship," Amazon isn't a public forum--it's a store.

yes, Why Dumya fired the head of the US Civil Rights Commission after the 2000 election. Why dumya only talked to crowds already vetted by loyalty statements... why Dumya only let newsmen on his plane that saw his way....why the repugs are so scared to give an oath and actually testify to Congress... why more Repugs are under investigation in spite of Dumya guidance to only go after dems (18 of 22 on most corrupt Congressmen list are repugs with the only senators being repugs). Only party with actual convictions at the presidential cabinet level in 3 different recent administations (wategate, Iran Contra & Plamegate). The party of torture, preemptive war, Gitmo, eavesdropping w/o a warrant and the loss of habeas corpus..... nothing compares to the pure evil found in the RNC and its supporters!

Yes! That's why McCain had the black reporter removed from his attendance in Panama City, Florida and when another reporter asked why Price was being removed, she too was led out of the area. Other state reporters remained.

Ah, hold on a second there. Our energy policy was created in complete secrecy early in this administration. And the very same Dick Cheney that conducted those meetings could care less what you or I think! We are headed toward Big Brother not away from such a society. This isn't just a problem of the Left. To say that is to blind yourself in one eye. It is a political problem. Americans have become so stupid that we willfully gave away our 4th Amendment Rights several years ago. The polls show the public approves of warrantless wiretapping without FISA review. This alone should prove we are a nation of idiots in the majority! These are our Constitutional Rights people! Not something to be tampered with. The additional fact that at least 50%+ of the population believe in ancient fairy tales as the literal truth, only solidifies that conclusion.

This is why they want the Fairness Doctrine. Censor the right on Radio. That is the only place they want to have it. If they put it in place for all media they would be shooting themselves in the foot. They only want to censor the opposition.

Endo, Fairness doctrine doesn't censor, it requires both sides to be presented, you idiot! No wonder Reagan vetoed the Truth in Telecommunications Act... so you rigfht wingers could get away with your lies and revisionist history - how Un-american of you! Reagan allowed the creation of Fox and the greatest division in America since before the Civil War!

In other words, donald, If no one wants to listen to the left wing radio show, and they can't get advertisers or Democrats to pay for it, they expect the media pay for it?

Or is it that if the liberals can't make a go of a radio program, then the Repubicans can't have on either? -

Air America FAILED commercially- no one was listening. This is America and if a PRIVATE radio show is successfull it should not be censored because people don't like whats said. If you want a liberal talk show- listen to it and support the advertsiers- but using laws to censor free speech is not "fair" it is gov't interference - oh thats exactly what liberals favor- regulating other people "for their own good"

Amazon knows who bought the book from them and rightfully deletes any reviews from people that never bought their book so the reviews being deleted are from right wing cons that haven't even read the book. ROFLMAO How stupid can cons get?? Evidently no one knows because they have not reached the bottom yet.

I am not 100% sure how Amazon works, because I have never written a review for one of their items, But I have written on other sites and you typically have to log in and are only presented items you have purchased for review. This seem fair. But just deleting reviews because they give the product a bad rating is not only wrong, but misleading, boarding on fraud.

you know none of the negative reviewers even read her book. I mean face it, they're Republicans, they just spread hate and lies. That's what they do.
Amazon had every right to remove what they knew where BS smear attacks by haters. -

It's a real book, believe it or not? Now that would make a real doorstop. Something you would never have to worry about referring too! Note the sales rank as well.

Thats interesting. I believe it was mostly Democrats who proved to be chad-challenged in FL in 2000. Let alone those who displayed ignorance of how to interpret the butterfly ballot...designed by...DEMOCRATS!
Reply
It's Democrats who complain about signs informing voters that Republicans have to stand in line on Tuesday while Democrats get to wait another week to vote when there won't be any lines. (I would add here that it takes all the fun out of a joke when you have to explain it to those at whose expense it was offered.)
There also the perceived disadvantage Democrats believe accompanies voter ID laws. Apparently there are more than a few Democrats who find this concept mystifying, as if they've never been carded for a beer or rented a movie at Blockbuster. -

Amazon has alawys been pretty good about accepting my reviews of the products I bought from them. However, I did (Actually) read Pelosi's book,. Well, as far as I could get, anyway. I started to puke about a third of the way through. My character and bodily system couldn't handle the awful and misleading lies she wrote. Therefore, I did not give Ms. Nancy's book a favorable review on Amazon.com.
Reply
After reading that Amazon was deleting these harsh reviews, I went back to their website to see if my review was still there. Viola, it was G-O-N-E. Huh? Yeppers, GONE! My account at Amazon has been closed. There are cyber stores that give just as low prices, and, they don't out-source many of the products prices so they don't have to pay the "Free Shipping".-

I never purchase a book by a liberal. Not when liberal librarians fall all over themselves stocking up mountains of liberal mish-mash to drive up stats. I just check it out at the local library for free.

If there's a liberal author out there, writing on political or ideological topics, who addrresses conservatism in a respectful manner, y'all please let me know. It's possible one slipped through the cracks.

It really is rib-splitting funny that PC25 can't find anything better to post than right-wingers whining about how the media suppresses them. He could have noted that several pieces of real information hit the news today. Why is he trying to keep americans dumb and distracted?

Journalists, lying sources, and the anthrax investigation
Establishment media obfuscated the anthrax investigation in the deliberate deceit by Government sources. Another case where establishment media possesses -- yet steadfastly conceals -- critical facts about what the Government has done, and insists on protecting the wrongdoers.

For that matter PC25 could have asked why Reagan Republicans are so upset with the corruption of the GOP.

Marching Off Into Tyranny
The Bush Regime’s assault on America has been much more successful than its assault on “terrorism.” Who remembers the promise of a “six weeks war”? Americans have been mired for 6 years in two wars without end which the neoconned Bush Regime, in alliance with Israeli zionists, seeks to expand to Iran, Pakistan, Syria, and Lebanon....

Yes and coincidentally over past several days notice that Amazon has suspiciously limited availability of some of Ann Coulter's books. Interestingly, the one focused on treason (the liberals' favorite past-time) is no where to be found! Nonetheless as an escape from the florid nauseating propaganda of the network evening "news" (sic DNC propaganda) was able to order a contrarian book about Senator McCarthy for this inquiring (former liberal) mind.
