Did you help put America's worst prez into power? Time to make amends »
Posted By TrueProgressive 1 year, 4 months ago in NewsWhat can all you increasingly humiliated, disillusioned, deeply mistaken Bush voters do, now that, having hopefully realized the violent error of your ways, take steps both small and large to try and make amends for shoving Dubya down the throat of the world, for your tiny but oh so poisonous contribution to the worst and most demeaning eight years in modern American politics?

I wish they would have included a request for the Democrats to also apologize. For nominating an extreme liberal like Kerry. Now they have gone one step farther and nominated that same type of extreme liberal with the bonus kicker of an extreme lack of experience.

NO! I did not help put America's worst president in power. I was not old enough to vote in the '72 when Nixon was elected. I voted for Ford so I did not help put Carter into the presidency. And I voted for Bush Sr. and Dole when Clinton won the elections. So NO! I did not help put the worst president in power since each of these mentioned were worse than Bush 2.

Granted, that's just my opinion, just as it is only opinion of Bush haters that he is the worst.-

You see there are still some idiots who are in denial. Here's a poster who obviously can't learn from his/her mistake and continues to compound it. None of those presidents you mentioned, besides Bush, have brought this nation to her knees. Broke and tattered and a shell of what she once was, America needs our support and votes to make sure this doesn't happen again and help bring back her glory and justice and prosperity for all and not just for the few filthy rich friends of the worst president ever.

Carter set us on a path of econmic stability by sacrificing in the short term. His legacy is that he was right about our need to cut our dependence on foriegn oil. It was the Raygun Administration that dismantled all of Carters efforts and took the path of short term profits rather than pony up the sacrifices necessary to take care of the country in the long term.
Reply
That being said Bush will still beat Raygun out for the worst President ever.

Judging by the moronic comments from the members of the Brain-Dead-Bush-Haters Club, I suspect that they must be the same bunch of boneheads that drive around in their Escalades and Expeditions, with the weathered Kerry/Edwards bumper-stickers, sucking up gas, that just further identifies them as the dummies that voted in the Democratic wasteoids that were going to end the war, impeach Bush and "change" Congress! How's that been working out for 'ya?...Now they want Obama, 'cause he ain't Bush...Oh Great, more brilliant thinking!

Actually, I kept the two worst candidates from getting near the White House.
Reply
Al Gore, John Kerry.
Gore has demonstrated since 2000 his abject stupidity, frivolity, and mental incapacity to run this nation. Kerry, a somewhat safer pick, could not point to a single accomplishment after 30 years in the Senate, was an admitted war criminal, and had a nice little chat with the North Vietnamese in Paris while Americans were being killed in battle.
So in 2000, I voted for sanity, and in 2004, I voted for America. It's understandable why liberals find both motives objectionable. -

I voted for Bush and have appologized in many of my posts. It is an affront to me and the nation what this jerk has done. And yet, there are still fools such as 'coolicula' who still rant and rave against non-Repubs. He/she are part of the 4% of the political bell curve who are listed on the curve as the Far/ultra Right & Far/ultra Left - a group who are far out of touch with the rest of the nation. And before he rants against me - I am lifelong Republican, scholar in the US Constitution & Constitutional Law, International Law, Business, and am an avid researcher who is scholared in information/intelligence analysis, history - to include political & world religions, and am a retired war time veteran who worked as an intelligence analysts and in anti-terrorism even before Islamic terrorism became a danger. The Bushies need to take a few steps back, look at what has happened because of his assaults on the Constitution and Law while ignoring the inner needs of the citizens.

If someone's Constitutional rights have been assaulted where are these people, and where are the resultant lawsuits? Diane Feinstein was asked this very question and had no answer.

I cast two votes for Bush, but I never voted FOR Bush. I was voting against what the Democrats had to offer.
Reply
Let's get this clear. There are those of us who don't care for Bush, despite having voted for him. I'm in that group. There are Democrats who don't like Obama, but they are going to vote for him. That's the reality of the situation.

On July 4th 1974, I was stuck in a little town of Milton-Freewater, Oregon, work related. I wound up in a bar that was jammed packed, it was about 101 degrees outside. I was listening to a whole bunch of people talking back and forth, what a terrible President Richard Nixon had been, and how none of them voted for him. All of a sudden this old guy with a lot of stones speaks up, and he says,"How come I am the only one in this room that voted for Richard Nixon. He won by a landslide!" Reminds me of this thread. Almost eight years has past, and the guy is so terrible, nobody ever voted for him!

The big difference I can see between the Left and the Right (besides policy, of course) is the Right's steadfast stance that no Republican has done anything wrong ever and no Democrat has ever done anything right even. When Bush was asked in a debate to name something he felt was a mistake, the only thing he could come up with was that some of the people he hired didn't perform the way he had expected (that's not really a Bush shortcoming though, is it).
Reagan did no wrong.
The only thing Bush 41 did wrong was not chase Saddam into Iraq.
Bush 43 has been infallible.
Some on the Right say the don't like McCain, but they won't really say what they don't like about him.
On the other hand, I've heard Obama supporters say they didn't like his FISA vote. I've heard Democrats pointing out that Clinton was way off base on NAFTA and probably should have shown a bit more self-restraint on the hormone front, or at the very least not lied about it. Bush has done a couple of things I find commendable, like the Hawaii National Ocean Preserve, successful diplomacy with North Korea, and expanding AIDS abatement efforts in Africa.
Ask a Republican to name one thing they thought Clinton did well, then ask them to name one thing they thought Bush did poorly. And no, "Not being 'X' enough" doesn't count.
Both parties have certain shades of Wilsonian goggles on when viewing their politicians. I find evidence that the goggles on the right are a little opaque than the ones on the left.-

As A Republican I will say Clinton did a good job handling the economy (basically did nothing---which is good) with the help of the Republicans that controlled Congress for 6 of his 8 years. What concerns me is when one party (the Republicans for 6 of the last 8 years) and now the potental of the Democrats controlling 2 of the 3 branches of government going forward. The economy does better when there is a split in control.
Reply
I will certainly criticize the Republicans as they had a once in a generation opportunity to show America that they are the low tax, pro growth, small govt., balanced budget party---unfortunately they blew it and they are now paying for the mistake. Now it appears we are going to give the Democrats the same opportunity----and I suspect the results will be the same.

You must not read much. Actually, conservatives have critisized the current president on several issues, spicifically his lienient stance on illegal immagration, his severly lacking No Child Left Behind program, (my wife is a teacher), his continued support of NAFTA and waiting so long to lift the executive order banning off-shore drilling.

You talk about our nation on her knees, broken, tattered, and a shell of what she once was...she once was built on GOD. The reason our country WAS so blessed is because we are the only nation that was built solely on GOD. Our nation will be on a spiraling downfall no matter who is president. There is no way to fix what is going on. WE THE PEOPLE have made it this way. We have faltered from what we once were. We now question God's existence. We say moral standards are unconstitutional. We are the land of the free...or were the land of the free. Once again, we've brought this on ourselves. "GOD BLESS AMERICA"

He is one of the few human beings on this Earth I am going have a real hard time feeling any empathy for upon his death. Of course OBL, Ahmadinejad, Khalid Sheik Mohammed, and all Fundamentalists of all faiths who believe that the unknown is more precious than this known life are there too. GW is not there. I seriously pity the man for turning over his foreign policy to Cheney and his cabal. He didn't know better still doesn't. Although he has learned a few obvious lessons, like talking to your enemy might actually work (see Sunni Tribal leaders and former insurgents). History won't be so forgiving!
My suspicion is that if they can pry him out of his current seat he will be headed for retirement in Dubai, sitting on the Haliburton board again. Perhaps overseeing the whole deal. From there who knows? Afterall even being the titular "Master of the World" would not sate his ego. It hasn't so far.

GW had his corrupt little brother in FL to steal the election. As well as N Mexico's Governor who also interfered with the votes. GW claims the elections over in Africa was a farce. He obviously forgot his little corruption scandal in 2000..

Nothing but a War criminal who needs to stand trial for war crimes, torture and murder. Invading a Country who had NO weapons of Mass destruction as he claimed for months and months. Wasted tax's of almost what, a TRILLION? Killed the Country's economy, stole our rights as Americans. Giving our Country to the immergrants. And making Americans learn another language, as Immergrants are tooo lazy to learn English.
Which ought to be a mandatory requirement. Speak English, or get out NOW! We cannot graduate from High school if we do not know English, why give away a country, where they fly thier old countries flag, refuse to learn American ways. And fomm communities who fight the government to bend to what they want or need. We have to pay for thier schoooling, health care, welfare and they give nothing back, as in tax's or appropriate rent. As they live 20 people in a place Americans can only have 2-4 residents, but they cram up to 30-40 people in a 1 room apt???They should forfeit all thier wealth, as it cannot leave the country, if earned here and NO english was learned in order to stay!!!!!
Boot them as well as BUSH out of our Country. Now, thats a plan, exile Bush to some portorican/Jamacain island....-

i definitely agree with you...we send our kids to 13-14 yrs of school and then urge them to go to college because thats the only way they will make it...then we allow immigrants to come here and take our jobs while we support them...then we will also be required to learn their language...kudos to your statement

i'm a republican but i don't like GW. I don't blame him for the economy. We've been bringing this on for longer than GW has been in office. We are just now seeing the results. I would have voted for someone else had there been a better candidate. They all sucked so i picked the lesser of 2 evils in both elections. this election is the same way. i don't like either candidate. maybe if we would have researched our candidates, Ron Paul would be the nominee -

Bush won Florida fair and square. Get over it. The votes were counted with representatives from both parties observing.
Reply
Gore lost due to his insistance that only certain counties votes be recounted---not the entire state. This created an unequal protection under the law issue. The Democrats compounded their incompetence with the idiotic butterfly ballot.
Killed the country's economy? That's interesting. The economy is bigger even with the current issues than when Clinton left office. Bush certainly hasn't "killed" the economy.
Bush wasn't the only one claiming Iraq had WMD---the inteligence services of France, Germany, England, Russia, China and of course our own, along with previous president Bill Clinton all claimed Iraq had WMD.
