Comments for Hillary Wants Name Put In Nomination »
Posted By pc25 1 year, 4 months ago in NewsYet another California campaign fundraiser has produced an unauthorized video making news — this one for Hillary Clinton.
It begins with a Clinton delegate — cheered on — asking the former First Lady to ”please consider having your name put in nomination” at the Democratic National Convention in Denver.
”We do not want any Democrat..walking away and saying I’m not happy,” she warns. ”That’s what I’m trying to avoid.”

It really serves no purpose that I can think of... does Hillary want her cheer section to be louder, like some football game cheer-off? Does she really want to finagle the nomination? Even if she did, she couldn't win as most Dems would just sit home in disgust. This is the the most self-centered, pathetic attempt at self-aggrandizement I have seen yet in politics (and that's saying a mouthful when it comes to politicians.)

It certainly does serve a purpose. I think the Clinton's see Barry for what he actually is. An empty suit, created by the Chicago/Daley political machine and little else. He's not an agent of change. He's the same old fashioned big government lib.

I don't care what she says or does at the convention because I still WILL NOT vote for someone I don't trust.
Reply
I wish she would come out and say she is running for President because I think she would have a lot more than 18 million voting for her now since people have seen Obama's true colors.
Hillary could start another party and that would be better than having the same old thing every election year. I wish she would shake things up even more.
Hey Obama who's acting like the status quo? Hypocrite-

absolutely.

Donald said he absolutely wouldn't vote for anyone he doesn't trust -- well, kiddo, that's any politician in general and these three (McCain, Obama & Clintion) in particular.
But this is something I never thought I would think let along say -- If Hilary was running, I'd hold my nose, cross my fingers and vote for her as the least evil of this triumverate from hell.
As the race stands, being from CT where we might as well stay home 'cuz you know Obama (or Mickey Mouse, for that matter -- if he were a dem) is going to carry the state, I'll probably vote for the Libertarian guy to make my point.-

Amazed, I voted for who I thought was the lesser of the evils in 2004 and ended up helping elect an evil to 4 more years. The whole problem with voting for the lesser of the evils is that you still end up with evil. Like I have stated many times before, I am either voting 3rd party or not at all.

Hillary is going to put herself right into the sterotype she's always claimed to hate: the megalomaniac, tantrum-throwing, vindictive bitch. Her "me me me" stunts may not only cost her party 2008...it will ruin her chances to be taken as anything less than Mussolini-like in 2012. I'm not saying she needs to shut up and get in the kitchen...I'm just saying she needs to learn to lose gracefully. IT'S OVER. DON'T TAKE AMERICA DOWN WITH YOU. I wouldn't vote for her as dogcatcher at this point.

Isn't the only reason Obama is the presumptive candidate because Hilary bowed out last June. I seem to recall that Obama did NOT have the required number of delegates without the use and endorsement of many of the superdelegates. Neither did Hilary. This means he will not necessarily win on the first ballot -- especially if Hilary's name is still there. Everyone is free to vote as they wish on subsequent ballots.

My personal feeling is that they so both go for it. What is the point of bothering to have a convention if everything is settled before it starts?
This race is so close -- between Hilary and Obama and between Obama and McCain. Popularity -wise Obama is in reverse. On a projected electoral vote map, 2 more states slipped into the "up for grabs" category from being solidly Obama's. Obama's eroding support is not matched by a corresponding uptick for McCain --for obvious reasons.
This election should have been a skateaway for the dems, but as usual they are poised to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.
Put Hilary's name on the ballot and hope the democratic delegates come to their senses and switch horses midstream.
It is the only glimmer of hope this country has....
(of course, once she's president, I reserve the right to disagree with most of her policies..._lol)

Obama vs McCain = vote for McCain
Reply
Clinton vs McCain = vote for Hilary
about the only way this dynamic would change for me is if Fred Thompson was McCain's running mate (but then it would just be me and four other people in the country who would vote for him)

Obama doesn't want a roll call vote for Hillary
Reply
It will only bring back the fact that this was a very close primary
Hillary will speak Tuesday night and Bill Clinton is scheduled to speak Wednesday night. If Hillary's name is put up for a vote, it will look like a Clinton convention
I think the Obama camp is going to try and prevent her name being place up for a vote-

unfortunately, you're probably right, but will it be his call? I would think that that would be up to either the delegates or the party movers and shakers.
Reply
Obviously, Howard Dean won't support this because he's been telling her to quit since April, but if he really wants to win this time, perhaps he'll be pragmatic.
I can't EVEN believe I'm rooting for a Clinton to be back in the white house again.

I'm all for Hillary Clinton's try at the convention! Oboma got most of his votes through smooth talking lies and I believe that America, well most of America, has gotten wise to him by now. His affiliation with bad racist people and as his true beliefs slowly emerge, people are starting to fear his presidency. Hillary has a slim chance on a convention floor. In an election with Oboma, we Democrats will surely lose, as even I would not vote for him! I am a Democrat but love America too much to vote for Barock Obama. Go Hillary or McCain in 2008

Oh, by the way, I am a retired UAW/GM male from Michigan. One of the states that got cheated by The democratoc Party. They gave some of our Hillary votes to that Bum, Oboma. If Hillary is the nominee, she will take both Michigan and Florida. Many other states such as Ohio also. For the good of the Party, WE MUST elect Hillary Clinton on the Democratic Party floor! If we don't, we lose as with John Kerry. I urge delegates to consider voting for Hillary to save our party from another four years of republican rule. I would Vote for either Hillary or Bill Clinton for that matter. Things were good during their term in office. We need them! Barock Oboma is doom!!!

Now don't start painting your messiah like he's god. Barry is from one of the most corrupt political machines on earth. The Daley machine has brought more people back to life than Christ when it comes to votes. Barry was created by this machine.
Reply
On McCain, I don't know if he's be able to run a second time. Knowing where Barry came from and his terrible choice in friends, who knows if he'd be able. Many of his associates are racists, bigots and convicts. He fits fine in the DNC. -

I can only hope that Mr. Obama has his faculties about him when he chooses his Vice Presidential nominee. I also hope he does not give the nod to Ms. H. Clinton. She would do many things to disrupt Mr. Obama's Presidency if he wins...ED

I am a senior citizen and have been through many bad times and good times. I have been basically a Democrat for the most of my life. However, a far out and rasist Democrat, like Oboma, can only do harm to this wonderful country of ours. If you think that Bush ruined this country, just wait until, Heaven Forbid, Oboma is elected president! If you youngsters elect this Oboma character, God help Us All!
