John Edwards, who was rumored to be a VP candidate, and who was certainly a contender for a potential Obama Cabinet position, suddenly has dropped out of attendance at the Democratic National Convention.
Reply
Edwards was expected to make a keynote address at the DNC convention, so his removal leaves a big hole in the speaking list.
This can hardly be unexpected. Now that the Old Media has finally weighed in on this, Edwards himself is now saying that he doesn't "have a political future".-

Several things about your post made me laugh.
Reply
First among them was your reference to "Old Media". The implication being that the National Enquirer is 'New Media."
That's quite funny .... while simultaneously .... i feel a deep pang of sorrow that someone could actually CHOOSE to be so deluded.
This "Pride-in-Ignorance" continues to bode ill for our nation.
In addition ... the OLD MEDIA ... to laughably use your term .... REFUSES to discuss their media darling ... Johnny Shapeshifter McCain's flagrant Adultery with his first wife.
This Moral Relativism that Christian Conservatives are adamantly partisan to is also a danger to our society.
Look, it's just not working. Christian Conservatives are obviously not in a position to demonize John Edwards personal failures.
The litany of Republican Personal Failures is probably 3 fold the Liberals.
That is PRECISELY why Republicans have made a big deal of 'Moral Fiber".
Who led the charge against Bill Clinton in the 90's?
Newt Gingrich, Henry Hyde, Bob Barr, Dan Burton, & Rob Livingston.
THESE MEN WERE ALL ADULTERERS!!!!
Newt Gingrich, in an eery parallel to John Edwards, (only far worse) actually went to his wife's hospital as she was about to be operated on for cancer to tell her he was leaving for a younger woman.
My point is this ... when even the religious of our nation, have thrown their Perspective 'Under the Bus' for highly partisan mantra of ... "We are always Good --- THEY are always bad" ... WHERE will the stabilizing influence for our nation come from in the future?
Christian Conservatives need to understand that Republicans have taken advantage of them ... and both have suffered grievously.
Republicans becoming flagrantly arrogant.
Christians becoming Morally Vacant. -

This is the actual title of the article:
Reply
"Obama says John Edwards won’t be at Democratic convention"
Evidently, the Edwards had already decided not to attend the convention. This hardly qualifies as "throwing someone under the bus."
But the poster of this article decided to change the title to something different to suit his/her prejudices. -

The title of the post "Obama Throws John Edwards Under The Bus " is just a tad
Reply
inflammatory, and after reading the article, its not even close to being factual!
Now if you had "DNC Throws John Edwards Under The Bus." it still might not be correct but would be allot closer to the truth! -

Well, well, well, if Prince Edwards is now out of politics because of womanizing and not delivering the key note speech at the convention.......
Reply
( Now womanizing never stopped the Kennedy boys.... but hey... they were the Kennedys and could do no wrong....sound familiar.. but then there is Bill. Hell, Bill loved the attention from womanizing, because it was all about him and a cigar, and him and a spot on a dress, and him and Ken Starr and him,him,him....and while he was taking shiz for diddlin' around he didn't have to answer those pesky questions about those bin-Laden antics like the Uss Cole and few bombed US Embassys and blowing up a 10 dollar US Army surplus tent with a million dollar cruse missle and killing off an aspirin factory and etc.)
....hummmmm..... I wonder if Bill and Hillary have any ideas about who might take Edwards place at the podium. Hint ,hint; I mean they only have two major time spots allotted to them why not go for a three-fer.
Or maybe the DNC could invite the God and Country loving Rev Wright to fill in for the Fallen Angel Edwards. I mean why not. 'Cause didn't Barak say that the good Rev was like family and who better to deliver the speech than a person that is like family.
Or maybe PegLosi would fill in if she doesn't have to leave because of an impromptu adjournment to go on vacation.
This is whole snafu is better than fiction. -

Sounds like it was John Edwards who indicated he wouldn't would be attending the convention, Barack simply confirmed that.

“If I’m not mistaken I think that … the Edwards family indicated that they probably wouldn’t be attending the convention,” Obama told reporters." <--- this is the only thing reported in that whole piece, otherwise its just punditry and speculation and behalf or reuters.-

This is the biggest bunch of crap I've seen in a while. How in the hell does Obama saying (“If I’m not mistaken I think that … the Edwards family indicated that they probably wouldn’t be attending the convention,”) equate to throwing Edwards under a bus? Ya'll ain't right, and I mean that sincerely!

I still haven't determined what Obama will be most noted for after he retires from politics in November. I thought it would be overtaking John Kerry as the Worlds Greatest Flip-Flopper but after he thru Edwards under the bus where so many of Obama's former allies rest I'm not sure.

You didn't see the list two week ago on propeller of MCBush's 62 flip flops and counting... its now well over 70 and still climbing! McBush started his flip flops when Cheney had him on the carpet to flip flop on his own Anti-Torture Bill which he did!
Reply
What really amazes me though is McBush hiring the same Bush advisors that did the reverse polling on him in the SC primaries back in 2000 concerning McBush having black babies! Well, repugs can only be relied on to say and do only what gets them a profit or more power - devil be damned to the Constitution, the rule of law, scruples or their own conscience!. -

That is easy Lum, Obama will be noted for being the first intelligent President since Bill Clinton. Speaking for the world though i am afraid nobody is going to be able to top Mr McCain as the greatest flip flopper of all time, he doesn't even have a platform since he changes his stand every speech. I can just imagine all the real conservatives grinding their teeth every time he gives a speech and they realize they still have to support him, lol.

First, let's retire the phrase "thrown under the bus," which has become THE trope of those who like to cackle over their opponents apparent opportunism--as if pols, ALL of them, aren't opportunistic by definition.
Reply
Now, why shouldn't Obama wish to keep his distance from Edwards at this time? At the moment--and this being America, that moment won't last long--Edwards is politically persona non grata.
But the thing to ponder in all this is the need to linger over Edward's self-created "plight."
His indiscretions are really relevant only to those who are immediately affected by them. Otherwise, it's all a tempest in a teapot.-

I'm going to rub something else in your faces, Cons.
Reply
You Cons have had a field day with Obama's name, not to mention ridiculing him for going by "Barry" for a time.
So riddle me this, Cons, why is the governor of Louisiana not called Piyush Jindal? What is with that "Bobby" noise? Does he have something to hide? Will he not be your darling anymore if he didn't go by his pretend name?
What's the matter, Cons? Don't like having the mirror held up to YOUR faces? -
