Posted By engineer 1 year, 2 months ago in News

Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari told reporters that American and Iraqi negotiators were "very close" to reaching a long-term security agreement that will set the rules for U.S. troops in Iraq after the U.N. mandate expires at the end of the year.

    FTA:
The Iraqi Government wants a "very clear time line" for troop withdrawal.

    Seantor Obama:
"The removal of our troops will be responsible and phased, directed by military commanders on the ground and done in consultation with the Iraqi government."

    Senator McCain:
“I do not want to keep our troops in Iraq a minute longer than necessary...."
"Our goal is an Iraq that no longer needs American troops."
"To promise a withdrawal of our forces from Iraq is the height of irresponsibility."

It sounds like Senator Obama and the Iraqi government are more aligned in their efforts to end the occupation of Iraq than Senator McCain.
According to one of Senator McCain's earlier comments he is willing to stay there 100 years, I don't think that is the timeline that the Iraqi government is thinking of.

All the cons are on the Edwards sex board instead of the Iraqi War ends early board (this one).

Really betrays where their true priorities and interests lie.

Neocons are followers; they think like sheep. Limbaugh says walk this way; and the entire mob waks that way.

Remember that the Iraqi government is a loose amalgamation of tribal and sectarian loyalties. Some things are being said for effect; this might be one of them.

The overarching effort should be directed at achieving sustainable peace, with the timing being based on this. Remember that we are still in Germany, Japan and Korea, and that the peace effort comes with some measure of responsibility for the future.

They have been wanting us to leave for sometime now. We are part of the problem, not the solution which the current administration would have you believe. Bush just don't want to leave all that good oil which was supposed to help pay for the war. Heck, its not even paying for reconstruction, time for us to get out we have donated enough.

As you usual you liberals are behind. Haven't you heard, this has all ready been settled with a non-specified withdrawal date.

    Wolfie...

    FTA...
But Zebari made clear that the Iraqis would not accept a deal that lacks a timeline for the end of the U.S. military presence.

"No, no definitely there has to be a very clear timeline," Zebari replied when asked if the Iraqis would accept an agreement that did not mention dates.

    ---

seems you neo-cons.. are behind the times... the above statement was MADE YESTERDAY...

It is ironic that as the Iraqi Army and Police gain more experience and confidence, they exert their sovereign right to self-determination.

Now that the Iraqi Government has asked the UGLY AMERICANS to leave their country, John "Iraq war" McCain and his "ear piece" the "Arab hating" PIG from CT can end their criticism of Barak Obama that he is "legislating failure in Iraq".

It shows Obama was on a right track that is in sync with Iraqis.

So, the hypocrites McCain & the PIG need not worry confusing themselves with Shiites & Sunnis and Iraq shares its border with Pakistan. Both height of stupidity and ignorance.

Then why does he keep losing points in the poles?
He is a Marxist loving socialist and America won't have any of that here.

The heavily self censored America media is not telling that polls in 5 leading European polls conducted right here gives 73% to Obama. If the corrupt American media tells that Obama is leading with 73%, who will watch their political programs?

It is the same corrupt media that did nothing to investigate or kept secret all Bush lies and manipulations used to invade Iraq.

If you go by corrupt American media poll, you will be surprised on the morning of Nov. 5th.

          http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/world/spending.htm
World military expenditure = $1100 billion
US Military expenditure = $623 billion
Okay I have been poking around a bit: and can call bullsh!t on these numbers.
I do think that if you take into account NATO and SAP (special access programs, Black budget) we do spend about the same amount on defense as the rest of the world combined.
I wasted a bunch of time this evening trying to back up my numbers.
Unfortunately the CIA fact book now only lists military expenditure as a percent of GDP, this was not the case previously. (I think because military and government spending are part of the GDP those numbers are bush!t)
Basically we pay 10 times more than the next country out of our paycheck for defense.
1 half of our discretionary budget goes to DOD.
When my hard drive gets full, I look for the biggest non-system files first to delete.
There are a lot of hidden files dedicated to defense.
