So where's the list wiseacre? It's easy to call names and insinuate but please quote my posts which make you suspect I'm looking to join a racist organization.

Also, what do you mean start the name calling? It appears you've already started calling names.

Wolfie -- are you so obtuse that you honestly doubt the existence of hate groups who would want to see Obama harmed or killed? Have you ever heard of Google? Google the word "white supremacy" or "KKK" or any of the possible permutations that go along with those kinds of groups. Are you really too stupid to do your own research? Figure it out, dummy.

You have to be the biggest idiot in the world if you really don't think this threat exists, or that there are hateful people out there who would wish him harm.

The Southern Poverty Law Center has monitored hate groups like the KKK, Christian Identity, Neo Nazi and white supremist groups for decades. They recently added the right wing Christian organization, Family Research Council, to its list of active hate groups.

The oldest hate web site is stormfront.org. In the upper right of that site you'll see a picture of Paul Fromm. He's 'faux' news' poster child for freedom of speech.-

Hate speech is hate speech, and SPLC has the common sense to know what hate is. They don't allow groups to hide behind 'bibles' to spew that hate. You have the 'politics' of hate backwards. -

Well, thanks Candida. I only asked for a list of the groups who were alleged to be threating Obama. I got some lists but I have no idea if these are the groups who are doing the threating. Also, you insulted me and it was insinuated that I am a racists per some of my previous comment. I asked for those comments to be quoted to me but so far I have received nada.............

Wolfie, you wrote: "I'd like to see a list of these white supremacists web sites just to see if they really exist."
Reply
You can't possibly be naive enough to believe that no white supremacist group exists in the US. I'm not a fan of Jerry Spinger and similar shows, but even I've seen them spewing their hate. I've seen little 2-year-olds dressed up into the "uniform" of the KKK.
You asked for a list of white supremacists and they are shown on the map that I've provided. Knowing their names, I'm sure you can find their websites on your own. Of course none of them will openly threaten Obama because they don't want the law breathing down on their necks. As the article mentioned, even the head of the KKK only suggested that he is convinced that "someone" will take care of this little problem.
I confirm that I've never seen any racist comments made by you, and I don't think I've ever accused you of racism either. I'm sarcastic sometimes, but I don't go for personal attacks. My sarcasm in this case was directed at your real or pretend naivety.

Like who are only "loudmouths" & no other threat? I haven't a clue who you're talking about. In a post above I listed the groups that are of concern by their actions, such as the KKK. If you want a comprehensive list of the 'doings' by hate groups, go to the SPLC website. Your comment is a generalization, and makes absolutely no sense.

And why only white supremist groups? Why not others? Surely if those knuckleheads are a risk, so are others.

There was a whole thread or two a few months back. She wasn't a Fox employee, she was some talking head that hardly anyone had ever heard of. She didn't really call for his assassination, she did make a bad joke that we would be better off if he was dead or if someone shot him. Extremely poor taste, but really milder than Bill Maher's wish for Cheney to be dead (she was clearly joking, Maher appeared to be genuinely wishing for Cheney's death, but that was also taken out of context, so perhaps he was joking but being very dry.

I think you ‘may’ be talking about what ED Hill said? I don’t remember her saying anything about us being better off if he were dead. I thought she made a comment about Obama and his wife bumping knuckles and saying something about it being a terrorist handshake? That in itself was bad enough and it cost her, she was off air for a while, though I don’t recall the thing about wishing them dead. I’m not saying it happened or not, but maybe the facts have been skewed in being told over and over and morphed into her wishing death or something.

If they break the law, those laws should apply. In the end, the person who goes through with a threat is probably deranged. The implication by the posts seems to say that the political motivation is the sickness or that political motivation encourages such acts. Its only marginally relevant as far as I am concerned. A nut job is a nut job.-

one question: why do you hate america? Is it because you are unable to attain anything meaningful in your life? It seems you are content and at your best when you attack others views that differ from yours. I doubt you have ever experienced any kind of a loving relationship with anyone and I would expect your future holds little to look forward to, other than living for this one moment when you can express your hostility on a computer and thinking , I am somebody. Indeed, bigG. Of course, what a native born citizen is, is up to debate. However, due to how the laws read, McCain was a native born yank no matter where he was born due to what is considered the "law of the blood" and a similar measure applies to Obama, I believe. If one or more parents are yanks, then you are a yank and allowed into the country as a native born citizen.

Ehh... the US does. Look up what the Republicans did to the KKK back in the 19th century for an example and even into the ongoing infiltration of today. I think it was a bit easier for the government to do it to the Black Panthers for two reasons...
Reply
1. If I'm not greatly mistaken, the Black Panthers acted as a police force in certain areas where the police just didn't exist. Frankly, I find it to be a good idea, but the government hates challenges to its power in this regard and probably had a few extra tools due to this.
2. Once more, unless I'm greatly mistaken, the Black Panthers were predominantly in urban areas. You'll quickly realize most white supremacist groups are primarily in rural areas, which could lead to making things more difficult. For example, the low population density means everyone knows one another and thus, its difficult to infiltrate such groups. Though plenty of such groups exists in cities, as well.-

It is all to true. Unfortunately, some areas of the country are still highly racist. My own town drove out the hate groups years ago, but in just ten minutes I can reach a town where the Ku Klux Klan is still active and preaching hate. Frankly, I don't think Obama has TOO much to worry about as the security afforded the President is very good and I think we have more people in the US who might decide to assassinate Bush then white power activists who will actually kill Obama, though I could be wrong. However, it only takes one man and one bullet to kill the President, that's the one thing history has emphatically taught us. It is also worth noting that Obama survived his trip to the town I live in, and like I said... some of those groups are only ten minutes away.

In my life I've witnessed the shootings of 2 presidents (JFK & Reagan). There are lunatics and evil people in the world. While most of us have the capacity to cope with the disappointment when our candidate loses, there is a small minority of people out there who will do anything (bomb abortion clinics or science labs that use mice, for example) to intimidate or terrorize when their rigid worldview is not shared by those in power.

By and large, I think, hate groups are losing the "battle" so to speak. I know the total number of groups have gone up... but does that actually reflect the total number of racists? I've never seen those figures and these hate groups are much like religions... just as one church splinters off to form its own group, so can a hate group and they do. I have a hard time believing that the raw number of racists is on the rise because the youth, by and large, are not racist. The old guard is dying off... and those who would replace them want no part of it. The rise in hate group numbers could actually be an indicator of a loss of cohesiveness of hate organizations in general and thus show that we are winning the fight.
Reply
It is also possible that events like 9/11 triggered a substantial rise in anti-Islam groups... perhaps a combination of the two leading to an increase in the hate groups.
Anyway, back to the main point. Sen. Obama is in very real danger... it only takes one nut job to kill a man, and this nut job could be racist or he could consider Obama a radical socialist or any number of things. He is in greater danger then most Presidents or nominees and he needs the extra security.-

I am from the south where they still believe in slavery, and look down on martial couples, and wear their rebel hats and flags. I was raised in the midwest, small farm town, and seven black families. I grew up and went to school with these kids, and they were smart and respected. I can't believe how ignorant and hateful these people can be, but the KKK, and similar groups are real. I fear for Senator Obama's life, as many others do, and pray that nothing happens to him, and that he has superior security around the clock. We need a man like him in the White House to shake up this country, and steer us in the right direction where the USA will thrive again, and the middle class will finally get a break.

While I really don't think Obama is qualified to run the country it has nothing to do with race. I don't think Mccain will do any better in fact I have lost what little faith I was taught as a child in our politicians. This is an insane country to put so much power behind one egomaniac after another. When are we going to wake up and smell the coffee. I also think we are sliding dangerously close to facism, face ti the one who wins will be the one with the most corporations in his pocket, and by the way Bill Clinton was a stain on the credibility of this country.

I find it frightening that ultra right-winged groups like the KKK are given the possibility to spread in public and via media their appeals to *********** Barack Obama. Or what else was the sense of this utterance on FOX? I am also still thinking about the enigmatic words of Hillary Clinton, who seemed to look for a job as the next "Oracle of Delphi" after having given up the run for presidency. No bodyguards will be able to protect Obama, if he´s on the black list of some racist idiots, but I really hope that this worst case scenario won´t become reality. The media should deal with this subject very carefully, because they aren´t only a source of information, but for some criminals also a source of inspiration!
