Bush: ‘I don’t see America having problems.’ »
Posted By TechnologyExpert 1 year, 3 months ago in NewsThis evening, NBC interrupted its Olympics coverage of women’s gymnastics for an interview with President Bush. Last week, Bush gave a speech and expressed “deep concerns” with China’s “detention of political dissidents, human-rights advocates and religious activists.” Costas brought up this speech and asked about “America’s own problems.” Bush denied that America has any problems.

He's right on the one point...we are a great country. But even the best of countries, including ours, has it's problems.

And many of the problems we're having now are a direct result of his Presidency.
What's he got left now...5 1/2 months? Just counting the days...sigh... -

What a guy! He can look at a glass almost empty and see one overflowing with optimism. What a absolute, out-of-touch dope. He's either completely isolated from what's going on in his own country or he's lying through his little smirky smile. Take your pick... he's an inspiration to us all.

Is that how you think your job performance should be judged and the basis on which you earn a raise each year? "Yes, boss... It's true, I sat on my @ss all year long and I suck in every conceivable way but my co-workers suck far worse so hit me with a few thousand extra bucks this year. Thanks and I'll see you at the coffeepot." ;-(

I like the optimistic approach. America has no problems compared to China and most other countries, especially when it comes to human rights, as was the context of the discussion. If Obama replaces him then we will have real problems.

I see. All China has to do is declare all their detainees 'Unlawful Combatants' and hey, problem solved!

Of course Bush doesn't see anything wrong with waterboarding, extraordinary rendition or the denial of habeas corpus. They're all HIS PROGRAMS! -

I find it amusing in here , reading so many negative articles on Bush and rightfully so, but I just can't understand how after the first 4 years of lying , deceit, killing ,spending, making pompous illiterate statements , how in the world did this guy get voted in for another 4 years with all this negativity ? The majority of voters who are the people of America voted this guy in as your countries leader. Wow that is some serious chit, voting him in and he ranks right up there with many of the worlds most dangerous leaders, many who are behind bars today or hiding in a neutral country. How did the country allow this to happen, not once but twice and from the sounds of it possibly for a third term with a Bush wannabe! Are Americans that daft? Do they not do their homework and make their decisions based on performance, or are most just like sheep?

Our government was hijacked and gutted and our Constitution used as toilet paper. Oh... but that was allowed to happen only because our populace overall is unbelievably poorly educated such that we're contracting out for the world's best and brightest minds (and you know the situation is dire when even *we* know the well herel is dry). ;-(

Did anyone actually watch the aforementioned interview? I did, and it was awkward in several places. I think Bush was attempting to sound optimistic in a "we will overcome" mentality, but it sounded more like he was in complete denial of America' current troubles. He reiterated the need for China to open itself to religious tolerance, but it came across like he was more concerned with evangelism than dealing with the issues of his own country.

The man just is not a good public speaker, at least when it comes to quick thinking. The entire interview wasn't a complete waste, but I think he bungles what he intends to say a lot of the time, and every other minute the viewer is left wondering what planet he's on.
It was uncomfortable to watch.-

Actually, for the first time ever, I was able to completely watch a Bush interview. He was upbeat about the Olympics. I think Costas threw him a few lowballs and would have preferred he leave politics out of it. -- But that's just me.

Typical Bush. A while back he was asked what his biggest mistake he made and what did he learned from the mistake. He could not answer because he is an arrogent person who doesn't live in the same world as the rest of us.
