Washington's bloody fingerprints are all over the invasion of South Ossetia. Georgia President Saakashvili would never launch a massive military attack without explicit orders from his bosses at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. Saakashvili owes his entire political career to NeoCon power-brokers and US intelligence agencies.

    Pretty much so.

Georgia is a chess piece in a proxy war against Russia. We had military advisors there , and still do. Makes you wonder if they advised to attack the Russian peacekeeping forces.

The name of the game here is encirclement of Russia, first with Poland's and Czechoslovakia's hosting of US missile bases, then with Georgia's entry into NATO.

But for the U.S., when it is already militarily overextended, to be poking the Russian Bear with a stick, that is just world-class stupid.

Russian peace keepers? Comrade Natureboy you can't be considered a peace keeper if you invade a nation like Russia did. As for being overextended, we're not. We have over 1million in uniform right now. Could we use more always, but Congress would have to approve this in the budget. Beside raising the minimum wage and giving themselves a pay increase, congress hasn't done much this year.

If Russia wants to dance, it's a war they're not going to win. In a nuclear war, no one wins. They must realize that. Then again Putin is on an ego trip similar to Hitler or Tojo's. He just warned Poland that they will comply to his will or else. Poland has a real army and air force and there are US troops there too, not just trainers. This might be interesting. I feel sorry for the civilians.
