John McCain the Maverick? »

I would agree with his assessment: if John McCain is a political maverick, who isn' t? Considering how many establishment candidates have been talking about ' Changing Washington' since the primaries, I guess we shouldn' t be too surprised.

McCain isn't ALL talk ....
He's also an Adulterer and serial Flip-Flopper.
But of course, Christian Conservatives have a history of supporting Republican Adulterers ... so my disagreement with you is minor.
The fact is ... Christian Conservatives PREFER shady characters ... not only for their presidential candidates ... but also for their sources of news.
For instance ... G. Gordon LIddy is quite popular with my fellow Christian Conservatives as a proponent of the Right Wing Message. He's a very popular Talk Radio host!
Then there's Oliver North ... convicted of lying under oath ... this fellow almost single-handedly brought universal shame to the Reagan Administration. Nevertheless, FOX hired him for his 'insight' into government. And millions of my fellow Chrisitian Conservatives EAGERLY listen to his every word. ... After all ... he WAS in the military!
One of Right Wing Media's most darling characters is **** Morris. FOX LOVE **** because having worked for the Clinton administration ... **** has this special insight into the mind of Clinton. .... Of course, it doesn't bother my fellow Christian Conservatives that this fellow is so twisted, he regularly employed prostitutes. Christian Conservatives STILL hang on his every ..... 'insight'.
We shouldn't forget the FOUNDER of the Republican Revolution ... our Newt Gingrich! Newt had to leave Congress because of his many misdeeds. And of course, the fact that Newt is a Serial Adulterer is well known ... and promptly dismissed by my fellow Christian Conservatives as being .... not essential.
Of course ... you have to wonder ... the man with the Grand Vision ... the man who articulated the philosophy of the Neo-Conservative and infused the Republican Party with that philosophy (and sanctioned Congressmen if they did not support it) .... this man .... being so fundamentally Morally Vacant ... could THIS be the reason the Neo-Conservative-Republican party has become so Morally Vacant?
Newt ... the man who made a special trip to the hospital to tell his wife (who was undergoing cancer treatment) that he was leaving her for the younger woman he'd been sleeping with ....
Newt ... the man who .... while he was committing adultery ... was CRUSADING against Bill Clinton's dalliance with Monica .... the very image of Hypocrisy ....
Could this Morally Vacant Hypocrite be the reason that his Articulation of The Modern Republican Party is the expression of Moral Vacancy and Hypocrisy?
Could very well be ... makes sense.
But of course, Christian Conservatives long ago stopped considering Truth, Justice, and the Value of the Individual.
Now .... it's all about promoting a Hardline, Right Wing Ideology ... no matter what that ideology stands for.

He was indicted as part of the Keating 5. His wife Cindy was addicted to pain killers and lost the receipts which were evidence supbeoned in the case.
I guess he's not really a Maverick from past history. He crashed his plane 5 times before getting his wings. Crashed again in Vietnam. The son of a wealthy Admiral he receive medical treatment and later thanked his father.
It's not what you know, but what family you are born into with elitist. He's not a Maverick- he's too much like Bush. -

He is a "career criminal" and a dirty Republican worse than Bush. Together with the PIG from CT, it is WW III waiting to happen if these two scum bags get power.
