this is a very detailed account of the potential for this trigger event spinning out of control.

as it happens, bush and cheney are so removed from reality that they could actually believe escalation would be a good thing. cheney basically said so today.

our only hope is that the leading military officers either talk them out of it, or refuse to carry out those orders.
