This is all pretty impressive. Even more since most of the wins have been in WR time. Personally, i'm most impressed by the 400 IM.

The TV also mentioned Paavo Nurmi as winning the same number of medals as Lewis and Spitz.
Given the normal cycles of athletes' competitive lives, think that winners of events in multiple Olympics should also be recognized as beyond normally special. Guys like Al Oerter, Bob Mathias, and Abebe Bikila come to mind. -
