You must be crazy. Obama has been in the Senate 31/2 years and 21/2 of that running for President. He has no accomplishments. He is now sponsoring a bill proposed by the UN so US taxpayers can pay 0.7% of the US GDP to "help impoverished nations". In 13 years thats 850 billion dollars, and he is sponsoring it because most of the money goes to his brothers in Africa. No, you are one more of the liberal left with their prime agenda "politcal correctness" and not the future of the United States.

This is both state and fed.

      --PA 90-0249: Public Aid Amendment

This required sending public aid recipients to rehab rather than cutting the benefits "where clinically appropriate substance abuse treatment capacity is available."

--PA 90-0474: Job Training and Economic Development

Added a section for a grant program for organizations trying to help poor people get jobs.

      --PA 90-0141: Criminal Procedure

Added a motion for convicted defendants to get DNA or fingerprint analysis done to try to prove their innocence.

      --PA 92-0156: Emergency Contraception Law

Provides that emergency contraception shall be provided by hospitals that provide services to sexual assault survivors and requires rules to be developed by each hospital to conform with the law.

      --PA 92-0088: Medical Care

Added grants for new community health centers.

      --PA 90-0017: Public Aid Rules

This amendment changed the rules for who is ineligible for Illinois Public Aid by adding a person violating a condition of probation or parole to the list. It also added that people who have tried to get public aid from two states by misrepresenting their residency status is ineligible. People convicted of drug crimes don't get cash assistance but can get food stamps. There are numerous other changes please read them if interested.

In addition, here are a few examples of what Obama's accomplished in his short term in the U.S. Senate:

--Authored, with Sen. **** Lugar (R-IN), the Lugar-Obama nonproliferation initiative (signed into law by the president), expanding U.S. cooperation to destroy conventional weapons. It also expands the State Department's ability to detect and interdict weapons and materials of mass destruction.

--Eliminated gifts of travel on corporate jets by lobbyists to members of Congress and required disclosure of bundled campaign contributions under the "Honest Leadership and Open Government Act," which was signed into law in September 2007.

--Sponsored the "Iran Sanctions Enabling Act" supporting divestment of state pension funds from Iran's oil and gas industry.

You are funny. Look at his total voting record in the legislature and Senate. Very far left. Also he voted to keep the corrupt Chicago style politics when a bipartisan group tried to clean it up. That's your man.

Which bipartisan group was that? And what was he voting on, exactly?

I don't remember that one. Do you have the bill number so I can look it up?

That $850B in aid will cost zero lives and will do exponentially more to stop terrorism than the Bush/McCain cowboy diplomacy strategy which will cost eight trillion dollars or more over the same time period and get hundreds of thousands of innocents killed.

Common sense economics is not intellectual property owned by the liberal left. The radical right has every right to equal share if they will take it.

If you go to the website for the bill you will find that it was originally supported by George Bush and Condilisa Rice in 2002. I have a copy of this bill on my desk. I have read the entire thing and no where in it does it say anything about us paying 7% of our GDP.

Here is the link, read and decide for yourself.

Africa is a major issue, and currying favor there is definitely in our interest.

Where do you think terrorists come from? They come from places where they're desperately poor with no hope for changing that. It'd be good if Africans liked us.
