The Democratic governor, also on the ballot this year, said he thinks those who vote on the gun issue alone will be equally troubled by McCain and Obama. He said neither is perfect with the National Rifle Association scorecard - McCain has received a “C” and Obama an “F.”

The governor said such voters may turn to Libertarian Bob Barr, “if you are absolutely not going to vote for McCain or Obama on guns.

Speaking as a 2nd Amendment activist, I don't think Barr will get too much support from gun owners since the Supreme Court ruled that the 2nd Amendment was indeed an individual right and individuals do have a right to keep and bear arms this has become a secondary issue. That is not to say the fight ends here, no, but the fight will mostly be in the states to repel gun control laws.

Sorry about the double post, I thought I had clicked the wrong button and so I rewrote and reposted. I like the second on best.

Doesn't Barr serve on the NRA board?

Bob's really the only "rights" candidate available. The others just blow in the wind and pander to whoever they think can get them some votes. Go Bob.

Most people probably aren't going to vote solely on gun rights, although this may be more relevant for someone in Montana, whom the governor is addressing.

Truthfully I don't know anyone who is voting on the gun issue or is that effected by it.
We have hunters and sportsmen in the area, it could be an issue with them. Since the
state passed the "make my day" bill we haven't heard much about guns. You can even get a license to carry a gun after taking a safety course and purchasing it, don't know why the average guy would need to carry a gun, I never would carry a gun just because I could.. This ammendment is not for everyone believe me, especially hotheads and rednecks.
