There is so much corporate greed behind the "green" movement that it is AMAZING.

It's fun to watch liberals fall for it, not realizing that they are playing into the same "capitalistic greed" system that they spend so much of their time criticizing.-

Corporate greed aside, the scientific fact remains, the planet is warming due to the greenhouse effect. We are producing greenhouse gases at an higher rate than ever, and the climate is being affected.

The temperature readings from one single thermometer do not reflect (or significantly affect) the GLOBAL trend of warming which we have witnessed over the past 150 years. That is like saying "my freezer is really cold today, so we have entered the next ice age."
Con-logic.-

Ricky, respectfully, there are a couple of slight errors in your post.
Reply
1) The planet may be warming, but it's not due to the "greenhouse effect". Temperature readings in the upper atmosphere are not indicating an increase, but if it was a "greenhouse effect" they would be as many greenhouse gasses concentrate in the upper atmosphere.
2) We are currently responsible for roughly one quarter of a percent of the CO2 in the atmosphere, which is currently at about 385 parts per million, so reducing our carbon emissions to zero (impossible) would reduce carbon to about 384 parts per million. There is NO evidence that such a reduction would impact the climate in any way. During periods of pre-history, CO2 has been as high as TEN TIMES our current levels with NO man-made contributions.
3) The largest growth in industrial contribution to atmospheric carbon took place during the industrial boom after WWII, 1940 to 1970, a time when temperatures were decreasing, not increasing.
You are correct about the one-thermometer theory and it has misled many of the "greens" because many temperature reading statiions are now in urban settings when they used to be located rurally. Once surrounded by grass, the same stations are now located in the middle of an asphalted parking lots... no wonder they show an exaggerated temperature increase.-

Climate myths: Human CO2 emissions are too tiny to matter

It is true that human emissions of CO2 are small compared with natural sources. But the fact that CO2 levels have remained steady until very recently shows that natural emissions are usually balanced by natural absorptions. Now slightly more CO2 must be entering the atmosphere than is being soaked up by carbon "sinks".
