    One other point worth noting is that almost all of the temperature reading stations in Russian Siberia were no longer monitored after the fall of the Soviet Union.

    Obviously, if you remove the stations in the colder climates from your "average" readings, you will get an increase that does not have anything to do with the mean temperatures of the planet, but only the mean temperature at the remaining stations... most of which are in comparatively warm locations.
