The Obama Muslim Myth »

Posted By jovial 1 year, 3 months ago in News

Despite numerous attempts at clarification from Barack Obama's campaign, media outlets continue to perpetuate myths about the Democratic candidate being a Muslim. Just recently, Jerome Corsi, author of "The Obama Nation," alleged that the Illinois senator received Islamic instruction as a child. Meanwhile, a new national study by the Pew Research Center shows that 12 percent of the country still believes Obama is a Muslim. For more information, take a look at the American News Project video below.

The ignorance of some people in America has been reinforced by the talking heads on the media. It really has no basis in reality. It's just a hateful and malicious attack on the young senator from Illinois.

50.3 % of Americans believe in angels , 49.7% believe in aliens and there is still a significant number that think Saddam had something to do with 9/11.

Land of the free, home of the brave, nation of the delusional.

Anyone who still "believes" that Obama is a Muslim has three problems; one, they are ignorant, two - they want to remain that way, and three, they are bigots.

The only hope for a free society and open society to flourish rests upon the shoulders of an educated electorate. Obviously, our prospects for liberty and a constitutional government are precarious.

Well how many in our country still believe Bush is doing a good job. I'll bet the numbers correlate and the people behind those numbers are still in their sheets and hats.

How many people still think the word liberal is somehow connected to being communistic. When in reality conservative is more true in a communistic country. The conservatives at the top want keep all the riches for themselves and their ruling party.

There is nothing liberal about communism, there is a very conservative point to communism though. The conservatives seek to destroy liberty for all but the elite.

That is why they deal in lies and innuendo.

This is a most embarrassing number.

I was talking to a working man during the primaries, about Obama. He knew absolutely nothing about him, thought he was a Muslim. Luckily, not only did I correct him on that, I also told him about his education/upbringing. He seemed alot more pro-Obama after that... alot of these people, you just have to tell them the truth on the matter.

Apropos of the human condition, which I think is the subject of this thread, I read the other day that since WWII there's been only one month in which no nation on the planet was at war.

Let's think about his, especially in light of Russia's recent actions--and the inevitable glow such will give to those who deride Obama for not being sufficiently...bellicose.

It's unfortunate that it's so much easier to create lies than it is to dispel them. Especially when such a lie is repeated so many times in the mainstream media, which so often is too lazy to check facts--or disingenuous enough not to want to report facts.

For anyone who visits this story and still believes Obama was educated in a radical Muslim madrassa in Indonesia, CNN did a comprehensive report to discover the truth, even sending a reporter to the school to interview teachers and students:

      http://www.cnn.com/2007/POLITICS/01/22/obama.madrassa/

There's a link to the video of the reporter's visit to the school and interviews a couple of paragraphs down in that article--I'd recommend watching that as well..

I met an American in Buenos Aires in February who was convinced that Barrack was a Muslim and that WMD had been discovered in Iraq under 15 feet of sand. When, as a doubting brit, I asked for references to support his statements, came there none. It seemed to him that to repeat someone elses statement gave it validity. He was impervious to another, european, view.

It’s silly to try and call Obama a ‘Muslim’. He may have been sent to Muslim school as a child, but you know what, I was made to go to vacation bible school as a child. And just like me, Obama had no choice but go where his parents told him to.

Even if Obama was/is a Muslim, which is highly unlikely; it shouldn’t matter anymore than him belonging to a Christian church as an adult IMO.

If you want to argue his positions or his shortsightedness of those he has associated with during his life, which is one thing.

Trying to say he’s not ‘worthy’ of being president because he may have or is a member of ANY religion of his choosing in a nation that purports to be for religious freedom is absolutely the wrong way to try and win an election.

On a side note: He was born to a US citizen (his mother), that makes him a US citizen from what I heard.

Now, let’s take those two things off the table and debate the other things, time is wasting and time is running short, on both sides.

I'm as conservative as they come but it really ticks me off on the claims he's a Muslim. He's proclaimed being Christian since day one. What's so difficult for some to understand? And before you take your customary liberal cheap shots at the sole conservative left on Propeller, I've heard this from people of the left and right.

If you watched the Presidential Profiles on Fox last night, you now know how this rumor/misunderstanding started. When BHO was attending school overseas, his religion was listed as Muslim (the document was shown). But, as the show explained, this was because of the school's practice of listing the father's religion being the same as the child. BHO was raised by his Christian mother and also attended a Christian school.

According to islamic law, anyone whose father is a muslim is a muslim. Also, according to islamic law, anyone who converts from islam is an apostate and subject to death. Why no fatwa? "Myth?"

I've heard some morons in the AOL "Debate Politics" chat room (they should call it trash-talk chat room) saying the Obama refused to be sworn in to the Senate on a Bible. After doing some research I saw the picture of Barack Obama with his family, being sworn in on a HOLY BIBLE held by **** Cheney.

Then they say he had an American Flag taken off of his jet. Then I saw a picture of his jet, and guess what? The good ole stars and stripes painted on the fuselage.

What is the matter with the right-wing rumor-mongers?

At the end of the day it shouldn't matter what religion our president is as long as he upholds our Constitution, I know thats not enough for some of you but of course I would be much more comfortable with a President that wasn't a religious fundamentalist anything, in fact I get uncomfortable watching politicians proclaim that they are christian just because they have to.

I watched Obama Saturday night and he said he was Christian though none of answers seems to match the Christian values I was raised with. Your actions speak louder than words. If he says he's God, would that make it so? Thank God for those of us with common sense.

Obama is the better canidate for president '08. The Obama Muslim Myth was made up by the people who knew that Mudslinging and lies was the only way that McCain would win, and the people who made up "Obama Yo Mama!"

          Obama '08 (and '12!)

Hey, everybody, just because Obama has Muslim terrorists supporting him doesn't make him a Muslim, nor the fact that he didn't bolt out the door of a church that preached like the Nation of Islam for the 20 years he attended it, NOR the fact that he's a communist/Marxist, NOR the fact that he refused to wear a flag pen or the fact that he removed the US flag from his personal jet. Also, his desire to appease terrorists and the haters of America ALSO doesn't make him a Muslim.

Didnt Obama say in his book that he would go the way of muslim if it come to it. POINT IS he is muslim. In a muslim country this would not matter. Although we as Americans do not act christian as a whole; the finding of this country was based on JESUS CHRIST. If we look at our history the more Jesus and christian principles are taken out the worst shape this country gets in. Also what business does a muslim have running a christian country.Did Andrew Jackson run for president in Mexico.Bush has not let America down. We have let him down. Twin towers got attacked first. Then we went to war. Same senario as WWII Just not the same Patriotic country.

Why is OBama being muslim a problem? Why the big deal? Why is his religion an issue?
Explanations: Radical Muslim's Jihad want to destroy America anyway they can and if they can from the inside out all the better. Here is a man that comes out of the blue, with an extreme radical muslim background and ties to known terrorists claiming to be Christian coming from an extreme radical Christian church more like a radical cult in itself. The man is asked how could he and his wife go to this extreme radical Christian church for over 20 years and expose their children to the hate spewed from Wright's mouth and Obama answered "He never heard it!" So Radical muslim, radical Christain, both religions spew hate that show the man's character and background. His mother is White and yet he professes to be black and hate whites, but you people think all this is okay? You think hatred by his wife for this country is okay? You don't think he shares the same view as her? Then you people claim the President doesn't have the power to do this or that....Gee I think a law was passed giving the President a right to call a thing called Marshall Law, The Land of the Free will be made into the land of Jihad....from the inside out!!!!! I am not saying these things because I'm for McCain, I'm not saying these things because I'm racist, I'm not saying these things because I hate muslims (I know many fine, nice Muslim's) They believe OBama is a muslim, because once you are taught to be one, you never revert! This man is one scarey person to be running for Pres.! He scares the hell outta me. I read and listen to all sides and everything that's going on in this election. The more I hear the more frightened I get. Some say he's the antichrist. Maybe he's as close to there being an antichrist that we can get! It sure seems that way to me.
He puts down his own country in Germany to cheers at rock concerts. Europe who has more radical muslims want Obama as the US Pres. why would they care? They can't vote here. Does he think he's running for King of the world? Don't you people listen and see what audacity going to Iraq and preaching to the armed forces, not like he a candidate, but as if he's already won! Please people wake up. Is this mass hypnosis? Are you people deranged? Change is not what you hope it to be! Change is going to destroy us and out freedom. His change is not going to be one we want! Be wary of this man!
