    Well protoham,
George Will (ugh) had a column in the Sunday paper.
"John McCain may gain as invasion enhances fear factor" was the heading.
    The last few lines?
"Until Russian tanks rolled into Georgia, it seemed that not even the Democratic Party could lose this election. But it might if McCain can make it turn on the question of who is ornery enough to give Putin a convincing, deterring telephone call at 3 a.m."

So - this little confab of nations on the brink in the Caucasus could be helpful to the GOP, and their candidate? Funny how things like that happen -
    isn't it?

How long ago was it that Rove devised the campaign strategy of - making the war the issue to win the election. Sadly, too many people bought into his rhetoric - which was as shallow as his candidate.

George Will had so many comments in his article that showed the disdain he has toward the American people and he wasn't talking about the left - he was generalizing! The big deal in McCain's recent
critique of Obama is that Obama WANTS our troops to fail. Yet McCains supporters and advisors - Will - Gramm, etc. show no remorse talking about American's as if they were lower than bugs! All said proudly
while they wrap themselves in the flag, patriotism,
nationalism and SUPERIORITY. I cannot find common ground with these people or their ideology.
