“I find it very irresponsible to blame Clinton for the fact that our missles didn't get their job done. It's like throwing a dud grenade and then blaming the guy who ordered you to throw it”

Except the cruise missiles weren’t duds. They hit the targets they were programmed to hit.
To have gotten OBL in that strike they would have had to know EXACTLY where he would be day, date, time, within 30 meters and 10 seconds, 2 weeks in advance.
Yes 2 weeks in advance.
Cruise missiles are not used against “moving targets”
That gives ya 75 cruise missiles, 75 targets, each missile would have a killing circle of 30 meters, anything inside that 30 meters would be dead when the missile went “bang”.
10 seconds, avg time to walk out of a 30 meter circle.
Now do you know where your going to be 2 weeks from now within a 30 meter circle?
No
The lie is that this attack had anything to do with “killing” Bin Laden.-

I see the demogogues are out in force again today. I am fiscally and socially conservative.

No, I do not blame Bill Clinton. Clinton did the right thing. It is a damn shame we didn't get the bastard at the time. Of course the attack drove the Taliban and Osama bin Laden together (the enemy of my enemy, is my friend). Should we have sat on our asses and done nothing in fear that these two murderous groups become allies? I think the answer is obvious.-

It is. We shouldn't have done nothing. We should have sent in special forces to take out the threat, not missiles to kill innocent civilians in an attempt to "force" the Taliban to give him up. Instead of eliminating the threat, the missile attacks made it worse.

I don't blame Clinton (entirely) as he was probably not the mastermind behind the strikes (I'd say attacks, which would be completely accurate, but then they sound like a terrorist plot, and that's not exactly what I'm trying to convey -- isn't it great how the media uses and codifies key words to make us believe what they want us to?). I would guess that he (and all presidents) had foreign policy advisors whispering in his ear about what the threats were and how to deal with them.
Grima Wormtongue is alive and well and living in the White House.
