Well, agree with some of things Moore says. In particular, as things have evolved over past 3-4 weeks, picking Biden (a hack, adds nothing), Bayh (who?) or Kaine (double who?) would be at best inconsequential and, at worst, disastrous. Obama's candicacy is in a bit of trouble -- few objective would disagree, imo -- and he better pick somebody who at least has a chance to add something significant. IMO, Obama has already proven way too cool, non-reactive to the attacks against him over the past month; given his blase, uninspired response to McCain's attacks, you'd think literally he's been in Hawaii the whole time. He hasn't -- he's just played it cool (not a bad human trait but in a campaign like this where he's already got a number of challenges to overcome) it's bordered on inexplicable. Has this guy and his team learned nothing from the past presidential elections? For all their lip service that they have, so far it appears they have absolutely...learned nothing.

As for Moore's suggestion to pick Caroline Kennedy? He must be out of his mind. Perfect: a woman with virtually zero relevant experience (just what Obama needs), a "Kennedy", a name which, though it resonates positively to some, also resonates hugely negatively with many. (Think some passionately hate the Clintons? There are as many, if not more, who hate the Kennedys.) Of course, a pick like this would also be a complete insult to a lot of the women supporters of Hillary (particularly since part of the motive would be perceived to be a desire to have a woman on the ticket). It would smack of -- actually be -- nepotism. I'm sure Caroline is bright, has done some interesting things. But experience relevant to the Presidency? Why not pick Michael Moore himself or Angelina Jolie (she's probably spent more time in the developing world than Caroline) or, for that matter, what about Christie Brinkely? NY Magazine just did a valentine on Christy and she's a real committed pro-environment person: she actually attended the Democratic convention as a supporter of Gore! Plus, according to NY Magazine, she's still as beautiful as ever (and she owns as many houses as the Kennedys).
I'm exaggerating (a little). But for many Democrats who would finally actually like to get somebody elected, Moore's suggestion is just the kind of infuriating, ignorant, publicity-seeking nonsense that, if followed or gotten play, will insure yet again a Democrat doesn't get elected. Perfect...again.
