Excellent piece. I would encourage all who read this article to quietly reflect on the 535 men and women in the capitol that routinely go against the wishes of the majority of Americans.

It is time for a return to common sense in government. For far too long our elected representatives have only represented their own interests. Holding office is a CIVIC DUTY, not a right. It is a priveledge, granted to them by us, to act on our behalf in the interst of the entire nation and not just the powerful few that heap money, cars, properties, trips, etc. on them to push for concessions rather than standing firm for the mutual benefit of everyone.
About 2 1/2 years ago I began joking about making a run for POTUS. I worked up a basic policy and platform. About 1 1/2 years ago I decided to get serious about running. I am running for POTUS in 2012 because I truly want to make a positive difference in America.
Some of you know me, and have read my posts and comments. I believe it is time for the electorate (you and me) to REALLY send a message to our elected officials by not letting them continue with business as usual. Fire your ineffectual employees.
With that said I ask you all to review my websites and decide for yourself.

I have been railing against the "old boy network" for years. There is nothing wrong with America. America is the single most compassionate, generous, and helpful nation on earth. However, there are 535 men and women in D.C. that make us appear to be the single greatest evil in the universe.

I truly believe in term limits, as this would at least minimize the damage done by the radical and greedy elements of government. As I have stated in NUMEROUS posts, America is THE greatest nation on earth. It's citizens are rich in culture, diverse in all aspects of life. We, as a nation are the hardest working (by virtue of the lack of time off we take), hardest playing (by virtue of our leisure time pursuits), most generous (private citizen donations for foreign disasters outweighs other nations by 5 to 1), and offer the most assistance to others in times of need (the US is typically the FIRST on scene with emergency supplies), and yet to the eyes of the world we are the ultimate evil. Within our very own borders there is a large segment that also believes this, much to my dismay.
I urge all who read this article, and the comments on it to visit my websites and decide for yourself what REAL representation, REAL change is.

FTA: “The Congress, especially with regard to matters related to national security policy, has thrust power and authority to the executive branch. We have created an imperial presidency. The Congress no longer is able to articulate a vision of what is the common good. The Congress exists primarily to ensure the reelection of members of Congress.”

That imperial presidency, he says, “has made our democracy a false one. We’re going through the motions of a democratic political system. But the fabric of democracy, I think, really has worn very thin.”
